| The simple answer is, it is never appropriate to wear jeans to an interview. An interview is a brief time during which an interviewer is going to make a quick decision about you. Therefore, you want them to be impressed. You should always dress up for an interview, even if you know that the office normally wears jeans. While you might not need to wear a suit, you should at least wear a pair of khaki pants, and a sport coat with an open shirt. Years after the fact, I can still remember people who came to interview with me and were dressed too casually. I didn’t hire them, and I was a bit insulted that they didn’t think enough of the job to put a little effort into their appearance. Best Regards, Ruth Haag www.ruthhaag.com |
