Interview - in jeans??

If an office setting is purely casual and everyone wears jeans 5 days a week, is it appropriate to wear jeans to a job interview with them?

The simple answer is, it is never appropriate to wear jeans to an interview.

An interview is a brief time during which an interviewer is going to make a quick decision about you. Therefore, you want them to be impressed. You should always dress up for an interview, even if you know that the office normally wears jeans. While you might not need to wear a suit, you should at least wear a pair of khaki pants, and a sport coat with an open shirt.

Years after the fact, I can still remember people who came to interview with me and were dressed too casually. I didn’t hire them, and I was a bit insulted that they didn’t think enough of the job to put a little effort into their appearance.

Personally I'd say no, and have never let my son go for one in them. They are taught at school how to go for and conduct an interview and the expectations. Was good for them

I've worked in Human Resources for many years, and I can tell you that it always gives a negative impression to have someone show up for an interview in jeans. I did most of the interviewing, and I liked to see someone who was neat, clean, (and moderately modest!!) in their appearance. Once someone has started the job, they can then adapt the casual dress code of the department.
