Frugal Pet Care

One of our members recently had to give away her dogs because of the expense and it got me to thinking of ways I save money on my pets and how others do as well.

My tips are:

Upco Catalog 1-800-254-8726

I buy all my dogs heartguard and flea pills from them at, at least 50% less than what my vet charges. She is nice and gives me a prescription for their Program Heartguard because her first priority is making sure my pet(is) healthy. The flea pills you don't need a prescription for. They also have other items for arthritis, etc. and also cover cats, birds, horses. I have had excellant service from them.

We have a vet service here in Columbus, Ohio called Pet Concern where I get my dogs yearly shots at cost, no vet fee. Rabies shot $10.00 per dog for example. Also some pet stores give shots cheap, check around.

Frosty Paws subsitute recipe:

1 container (32 oz) nonfat plain yogurt ( I make my own)
1 large banana
3/4 cup cold water.

Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Put mixture into small containers and freeze.

Hope this will help others.

Anna
