Well Sis, I started this about 2 or 3 hours ago, but dgd took 100% of my attention. Now that she and her mom have gone home, I can now continue and get this posted for you.
I got your email and I'm here to answer questions. First, I was born in 1955, on April 2nd. I just turned 54 yrs. YOUNG!!!! LOL
The oldies I like best are the 50's. My mom liked that music and I grew up listening to it. It has stuck with me but I did go thru phases of different types of music. My favorites are The Beatles, Elvis, The BeeGees and the Association (My favorite song is Cherish).
As to my stickers. I like all kinds, but I'm always needing ones I can put on envelopes to send cards. I'm in dire need for Xmas ones, birthday ones, and ones that can be used for general cards like "I'm thinking of you", etc. But I'm always excited to have any new ones.
I hope you've had a great weekend. I have. I went with my dd, dgd and her boyfriend to north Georgia for a big Easter extravaganza. They had an easter egg hunt with 18,000 plastic eggs, all just thrown throughout the areas for each age group. Lots of the eggs had a prize redemption note inside of which quite a few were Cabbage Patch dolls. Unfortunately, RyLey, my dgd, didn't get one. But she had lots of little toys in each one. And she enjoyed it which is the most important thing. We then went the arts & crafts festival next to Babyland General where the Cabbage Patch dolls are born. If you are ever in Georgia, you need to go to Cleveland, GA to Babyland General. It's simply amazing. They have a premie nursey with premies in real incubators, the weigh-in, vital statistics, etc. room right after the baby is born and you can watch the nurse go thru all the steps, just like in real life, They have the regular nursery, a school room and the best place is in the cabbage patch. You get to see a cabbage patch baby be born. And they make it somewhat realistic. You'd have to see it. It's really awesome. They have pre-planned parenthood and when a baby is born, it usually has parents there ready to adopt him or her. The parents-to-be even get to name their baby and it announced to the crowd. They always have a first and middle name. Sometimes a premie is born too. But the cost for adoption, to me, is astronomical. It cost anywhere from $185 to $375 to adopt a new baby. The ones already born and in boxes are alot cheaper, usually $25 to $50.
We then dropped in to see my mom at her place of business. She owns Cleveland Florist. They had just moved to a much bigger place and we went to see it and her. It was nice. I don't get to see my mom but maybe a few times a year.
After all that excitement, there was a parade. RyLey loved it and the candy that was thrown into the crowd was an added bonus.
We then went to MacDonalds and got lunch to go. Then we stopped at a humongous premium outlet mall where so many brand name stores have outlet prices. After a couple of hours there, we finally headed home, which was almost 2 hours. That evening we cooked out on my grill. Then Sarina, my dd and her boyfriend, Jorge left RyLey with me for the night. She always stays with me Saturday nights and we go to church on Sunday. My dd has to work on Sundays which is really a shame but it gives me alot of quality time with dgd.
In a nutshell, I had a wonderful weekend. I hope you had a wonderful one too.
