Is There an Interest in Starting The Kids' Postcard Club Exchange Again?

We would like to hear from our members as to whether or not there is an interest in starting up the Kids' Postcard Club once again.

I realize that we have a lot of new members here now so I would like to hear from them too since they havent had a chance to participate.

Please take the time to read over the rules of the club and feel free to make suggestions!!

This poll will run for 5 days and then we will make our decision.

Thanks in advance for all of your opinions!!

I voted yes! After seeing what fun I have in the SS club, my son really wants to join this club again!

I vote YES! My son was only in it for 1 month before it shut down for the summer. He would love to join again.

Post Cards

This sounds like fun. I am sorry to sound so ignorant but how old must the children be and how many post cards would they have to send out?

My kids loved the pc club but I think that four postcards in one month is too much. My kids asked their pals questions but didn't get answers for weeks. Postcards always take longer in the mail than regular first class mail. Maybe assign each a penpal for two months and require five postcards in two months???

Hi STTAAR, Here are the guidelines for the club:

http://www.familycorner.com/forums/s...d.php3?t=12023

The kids have to be 5 to participate. Right now we have it set at sending 4 postcards a month but we are probably going to be changing that in some way if we start the club again.

Hi janieb, We are thinking of changing this rule, although there isnt anything set in stone just yet.

***Thinking Outloud*** There is a chance we might go to both emails and postcards like the SS club since I've found out that a lot of the kids got bored with waiting for the postcards to arrive---and many got lost in the mail too.

Maybe 1 email a week and 2 postcards a month??? I think that they could get to know each other more by email than by a postcard.

I'm not sure. We'll have to see the outcome of this poll and then I'll talk it over with Redcardinalbird and Amanda.

Keep an eye on this thread to see what develops!!

Yes! Yes! Count us in!

We had a blast in the Kids PC group last year and DD kept correspondence going even after it closed for the summer!

I think the e-mail idea is a GREAT one! It is a lot easier to get kids to e-mail each other than it is to sit down and write something. One PC by snail mail a month is a great idea -- they can always do more if they want.

Just our two cents worth! LOL....

LOVE the idea of e-mailing! And 2 postcards a month is doable! Thanks!

Is this rule gonna stay the same? My DD would love to get in on this. I've been around here for a few months but I'm mostly a lurker. Dont really post much.
