How long did you date?

Just wondering how long you dated your spouse before you got married? I'm probably the odd ball here, but we have been together for 12 1/2 years and engaged for 3 years. We haven't set a wedding date yet, we know we will get married....one of these days! We want to buy a house first and our families are driving us crazy---they are basically planning the wedding and telling us who should be our attendants. I think we'll end up having a small wedding, maybe we'll even elope!!

Pretty bad that I can't tell you the actual time frame, dh can though! I believe we dated almost a year then got engaged and six month later married.

Gina....I'm an oddball too when it comes to that but in the exact opposite way. Hubby and I dated a grand total of 6 weeks before we decided to get married 2 weeks later. So, it was about 2months from 1st date to wedding day. Just celebrated our 18th anniversary this month.

My hubby and I met on the internet in January of 1999. Both of us were seperated from our spouses. In July of 1999 he came over for a visit (from the UK) and spent almost 3 weeks. He went home (with a fanfare of tears and kisses) and sold everything he owned and was back with me within 3 weeks. We nevber actually dated. We went through INS stuff throughout the next year with him having to spend 6 months back in the UK at his dads home, and when we got the go ahead from INS we were married in October of 2000.

It was 16 months from date to wedding for us. I know my parents had a hissy fit becuase we were engaged after just 3 months of dating but we have celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary this past summer.

I was 15 and he was 19. We knew each other for 2 weeks (never went out on a date) and we were engaged. Four months after we met we got married.
We have 2 daughters and 5 grandchildren...our life was meant to be!
We have been best friends and lovers for 31+ years now.

My hubby and I grew up together.We were 9 and 11 when we met and were best friends He always told me that he would marry me someday...while he waited thru my boyfriends, thru the years,lol.He always says that he was in love with me...he just had to wait til I realized he was the one for me..isn't that sweet?? Well we FINALLY seriously dated when we were 16 and 18 and I fell in love with him We dated for 2 years and married when we were 18 and 20.We've been married for 18 years! It's amazing when you fall in love with the right person and KNOW that God intended it to be that way Terrific question!!

My hubby and I were engaged for 3 months before we tied the knot. Now, been married for 13 years.
