Should Grandparents be Paid for Taking Care of Their Grandkids?

I was just reading the posts here...I watched my grandson Alex when my son would have him every second week...I never once told my son that I wanted to be paid to spend time with Alex...I would have Alex from the time he woke up in the mornings until the time he went to bed at night...my son worked for a Security company,12 hour shifts...I loved the time I had with my grandson and never once felt like a babysitter...
