Summer reading

Hey there

I am a reading fanatic. One thing I love to do in the summer is sit outside and indulge in a good book. I love to read light hearted romance and mystery and great biographies.

Currently I am waiting for Janet Evanovich's Newest book to hit the stores. Does anyone else read her Stephanie Plum series?

Let me know what great reads you have found lately?

I love both those authors too.

Janet Evanovich's Stephanie plum series is a comedy of sorts, they are about a young woman who becomes a bounty hunter but has no experience, there are many colorful characters who join her on this journey. There is some foul language and some sexual inuendoes. I find they suit the just of the story though. These are by no means brain reading but they are over the top and light reading for those long summer days. The first in the series is "One for the Money" Her new one is the 10th in the series. I see alot of her books for sale on ebay.

I read only one book from Janet Evonovich's Stephanie Plum series. I forgot what the title was. But it was a good book. I'm also a reading fanatic. I'm a reading fanatic when it comes to Jennifer Crusie books. If you ilke Janet, then you like Jennifer. Her books has mystery, comedy, sex, etc. Just like Janet, but a little toned down. Jennifer's website is currently under construction, if you want to know what she's written, I can give you a list if you want.

Have you read any of Anne River's Siddon's Novels?
They are great summer reads!! My very favorite is "Outer Banks!!"

No I have not read any of her books but I'm always looking for new authors. I read about 2 to 4 books a week. If you could let me know some of the titles I can go to my library and see if they have them or can bring them in. Thanks so much.

Hi Deb, I would recommend "Outer Banks" and "Downtown"....those are my VERY favorites by Anne Rivers Siddons!!!

Have you read Debbie Anderson's "A Place To Call Home"
That's another favorite!!!

If you like travel stories, Peter Jenkins "A Walk Across America" is a good read.

Do you enjoy non fiction, too and if so, what type?
I like cookbooks and christian inspiration books. Becky Freeman is an awesome author.......she writes books on women's friendship that are both heartwarming and funny! A few of her titles are "Lemonade Laughter and Laid back joy", "Coffeecup friendship and cheesecake fun" and "Real Magnolia's!!!

Thanks for the titles of those books I am going to the library as soon as I find the time.....our library is only open 3 days a week.

I love both fiction and non fiction.


I just finished reading Family trust by amanda brown(author of legally blonde) It was a cute read for the summer.

I'm hoping to start reading A Mighty Heart by Mariane Pearl....a tribut to her husband danny the journalist who was killed overseas.

I also like the Chicken soup for the soul set of books. Lighthearted, feel good reads.

I got behind on my reading this past winter , and am now back into it. I am way far behind on the latest.
