Grandparents Day is September 12th

I would like to plan something big for my mother since she has done a lot to help us out this past year.

Im not sure what we will do just yet.


Do you have plans for Grandparents Day?

i am thinking about a dinner for them. i like to do theme dinner parties. my mom and daad love a chinese dinner i make so i think if mom isnt working i will do that, invite the whole family and have this for them we havent had a family get together in several months with everyones busy scgedule and this would be nice unless i see better ideas on this post

I'm not quite sure what to do for Grandparents Day either. Both my parents will be out of town that day for the entire week. But they have been great!!
I was thinking of maybe writing them a little letter telling them why I am thankful they are my parents and great grandparents to my children. They have been there through everything and they are the only granparents my kids know.
But I wanted to do something from the kids as well. They really like the little things, especially when my DD is proud of it and reminds them that "That's me!". I can't wait to hear other ideas.

I like the dinner idea and I think my family will prepare the dinner. I'm half Korean and my mother has taught me some wonderful tasty Korean dishes that my StepM and DD love. My boys love them also and whenever we do this dinner, we have everyone come over to help chop, cut, roll, steam, fry, grill and then we eat! I've taught my boys to roll Yakimando (Korean egg rolls). I think we'll show up at my parents house with platefuls of fried rice, egg rolls, purlgogi (teriyaki beef), and egg-drop soup. I'll have it all prepare so they won't have to mess up the kitchen or get dressed up to go out. I think I'm still hungry!
