I don't decorate for the holiday. Since Joshua is 16 now, it is no big deal. And I do NOT give out candy anymore. The last time we gave out candy, we had only a few trick or treaters come do the door, and they were teenagers who were SMOKING. My husband and I said if they can buy cigarettes, then they can buy there own darn candy. LOL

I am not a gore person either. I do Fall decorating sprinkle in the Jack-o-lanterns and black cats for Halloween and then replace those with Turkeys and pilgrims in November. My kids are grown, but I like to decorate for me.
I miss handing out candy and seeing all the little ones in their costumes. Since I moved here don't have the trick or treaters anymore we live on a street with no connecting streets except for main BUSY road. I have some friendly looking scare crows bought at Michaels and will move them and put Turkeys out. Steven loves to see all this and Gina has really gone all out with it, inside the house and also on porch (her porch is more like a "stoop" compared to mine. I love the deco's of each season, don't always decorate tho' just depends. Hugs to all

I like a cute kid friendly Halloween....Pumpkins, scarecrows, mums, bales of hay, cornstalks and friendly little creatures......I've always decorated for Halloween even when my kids were grown.....then along came the grandkids which makes it even more fun.......I have two treats, candy on one tray and one tray with halloween pencils, rings, and little bugs/spiders.......Where I live I do get a lot of teens too. (but none have been smoking) They are just out for a good time with their friends. My dd & ds use to have a blast every Halloween with their friends. In fact they still do with their own kids.

I like the scarey stuff. But I have both for decorations. We have the blow ups for outside and grave stones and goblins, witches etc. I love Halloween and the decorations, one of my favorite times of the year. I love the kids dressing up, I just wish it was like the good ole days, now it is too commercialized like everything else. I have to say that living in Massachusetts, trick or treating was like the good old days, we had ppl giving out hot cocoa and coffee to parents. But here in Florida its not the same, I will miss that about a small town.
