Does anyone take part in ordering groceries and having them delivered to you?

I've seen some places that will take online orders and then they will deliver them to you. Has anyone ever taken part in this?

I had sprained my ankle last winter and couldn't go to the grocery store, and my husband didn't have the time. Our local store Shoprite, has an online ordering system. They charge an $11.00 shopping fee for pick up and a $17.00 fee for delivery. But DH said it was t he best money he has ever spent, because he didn't have to be in charge of the groceries, and spend his limited free time doing something he hated.

You can shop from the current sale circular, browse next wee's circular to plan ahead, and if what you need isn't on sale, you can just type it in or use their category menu to find it. He would pick the groceries up, but they also deliver. they accept the shopper's card and all the coupons.

We have been using the service again since I had my surgery, and it's again it's worth the cost to him.

I think it would be great for sticking to the list and also as Cathy said if you are laid up. It is a service so it’s worth it if you need it

I was thinking that it would be a good thing for my Mom when it is snowing and the roads are bad. I know that she wouldn't want to pay the extra $$$ for the delivery fee, though.

Val, I hope that you get to feeling better soon. I didn't realize that you had surgery.

I know back when I was growing up and everybody was a one car family if you even had that, everybody in the neighborhood used a delivery grocery and of course back then there was no pulling fee nor delivery fee, it was just worked into their daily prices.
I could see it being a good thing at times, but of course out here there is only one local grocery so I have no hopes of ever having a delivery service near me!
