How do you save money at the grocery store?

Gina----I know exactly what you are saying. Kind of do the same thing. I love it when they ring me up at the register. At the grocery store I shop, they almost alwaays need a key. LOL That means I saved to much!!!!

Forgot to add, that when I get home, I transfer the amount I saved to the savings account. It really adds up fast and it helped fund a vacation last year!

I do the same thing. The money I save using coupons, buying discounted items, rebates, etc. goes into a special checking account that we use for Christmas. That way we know exactly how much we have to spend (not that we spend it all). We use this account for birthdays as well. My paycheck (I only work a few hours a week) also goes in there.

I always try to match up my coupons with store sales. This really helps when the items are ALSO in the Walgreen's Super Saver rebate catalog. Sometimes they end up paying me to use their stuff! I always get my rebate back in the form of a gift card, so they add another 10% to the total. It works out good, cause I'll use that to buy future items from them for the rebates.

The things that disappoint me about my area: No double coupons....anywhere. Oh, Winn Dixie will give you 2 non-food doubles once in a blue moon, but it's hardly worth driving to their store. The other is that Proctor and Gamble does not distribute their coupon ads in our area. I even emailed them, and they said we weren't big enough....huh?
Oh well.......I'm boycotting their products until they get with the program.
I joined quite a few coupon trains, also. I get a good selection of coupons.....from all over the nation. AND there's Carol's Coponaholics Club.....

Just before Christmas my girlsfriend and I started shopping @ Thrift Stores. One of my items was a new turtle neck shirt for my grand daughter Priced @ $1.41 and it had been $7.96! We like the ones with brand new children's clothes w/ the tags w/ orignal prices! I saved enough there to add to my home made gift baskets. I check all the adds, and the wholesale club's prices before buying. Getting it in bulk often saves me a lot, but DH thinks its too much trouble. Why do husbands scream @ us to save money then scream @ us for doing so?! Makes NO sence!

I went to albertson's the other night.....found their store brand pantiliners on sale for .89...down from $1.39.
They also had blinkie coupons on the shelf for .75 off 1 pkg.
Having a 14 yo daughter, I stocked up....

They also have Tabasco Brand Hot Sauce on sale @ 10 for $10......and blinkies @ the shelf for .75 off 1 bottle.
I got 8 of 'em......

I make sure I save the ticker coupons that print off at the end of the sale. Being that I have a 9 week old and use formula, I have BOGO coupons and use the gift checks that comein the mail for them. It has really helped with the cost!

There seem to be alot of checkers that don't give them to you, and you have to ask!
I've EVEN seen one, who was buying her groceries after her shift, and she had a FISTFULL of those coupons!
3 guesses WHERE she got them.........
