We have plans to take our kids to a park today. Nothing scheduled to do ahead of time, just a relaxing day.
My dh is off tonight and tomorrow night but works Sunday night so if we plan on seeing fireworks, it will be tonight since he want to watch the NASCAR race tomorrow night.
We are going to have a cookout here at home on the 4th and then we'll probably be able to sit on our patio and watch fireworks from somewhere local. Either that, or we will watch them on TV because of all of the bugs out here now. <<<<bugs chasing me! ROFL!!!!
I live at the shore and it's very, very crowded in the Summer. The traffic is awful. This 4th was July week end will be a quiet one for our family. Tomorrow night I'll go somewhere close to home with dd. Sunday dh will take the grand kids to see, "Toy Story" and we'll have a family BBQ. Monday we'll all relax and the grandkids will be in the pool. It's suppose to be in the high 90's and may hit 100 this week end, so between the heat and traffic staying close to home sounds like a good idea to me.

DD1 and the other kids in the band have a once in a life time opportunity this July 4th... they will be marching in the Washington DC's 4th of July parade and get to watch the fireworks from the White House lawn.
Roberta, That's wonderful for your dd. I hope her and the rest of the band have a wonderful trip and an enjoyable time in DC.
It's just the two of us and I've seen enough fireworks in my life that I prefer to just watch them on TV and eat hot dogs or pizza at home. It is usually unbearably hot at the stadium where the city does the fireworks, plus the really big June bugs come out then and can end up in your hair or other places on you and hitch a ride home without you knowing it for awhile.
Normally we would spend with my in Washington enjoying a small on a day being , eating hot dogs and hamburgers,, then to another family members street to and watch more - hoping that no-one gets hurt lighting some of the .This year my DH and I are going to some of the areas around Arizona, and have a quiet (yet very **) . Maybe next year we will do something fun and exciting (like moving).

We are going to take the kids to see CARS 2 tonight - we are going for free! My daughter and I went to the movies a while back to see RIO and the theater had problems with the start of the movie so they issued readmission tickets to a new movie = 2 tickets, then I bid on a gift card and won a $10. gift card to Regal Theaters, then I cashed in my Pine Cone Research checks for $12. today. That makes for a free night at the movies for us with a couple of dollars left over. Might hit Dollar Tree for a couple of boxes of candy. lol!!
I'm planning an indoor picnic with bbq chicken, corn on the cob, desserts..etc either on Sat or Sun. My dh has to work as always on the 4th so we will treat Monday as a normal day and then my kids and I can watch fireworks on our back deck and on TV.
