Pinkie Winky Jar crafts

I love doing jars! I've done a few, but would love to hear about and SEE what you have been working on too!

Here's some of mine:

Patriotic Candle Jar

Valentine Candle Jar

I'm also attaching this one that I made a while ago, haven't posted it with instructions yet as I am making a box to go along with it called "Laundry Leftovers" for things like toys, paper clips, keys, anything that's not money LOL

Thanks Shawn, you are a wonderful boost to my ego LOL

Sten, I use regular acrylic craft paint. I clean the jar and then wipe it down with white vinegar or rubbing alcohol and let it dry. This helps the paint stick better and removes any residue that might be left behind. I always finish with a spray sealer 9acrylic), usually matte. Sometimes I use gloss depending on the finish. Looking forward to seeing your projects!

Amanda, Those are so cute ! I agree with Shawn, you could sell those like crazy at craft shows around here. I love the laundry loot jar, I am using an old oxyclean bucket to keep my loot in.....yours looks much nicer !

I would love to see more of your work...you have quite a talent.

I always have good intensions when I set out to try something like that but somehow mine never quite turn out the same way.

Thanks guys! I finished up my son's jar tonight, he had started one, so I finished it since he lost his patience LOL I have decided to make several of these and put them in the local craft shoft down the street. It's not a big place, but thought I would test the waters anyway

chuckle I paint jars too!

I have been painting jars for about 6 months or so and have found that indoor/outdoor house paint works well for a base coat. It's also much more cost effective when you paint a lot of jars for shows and such. It doesn't have to be the expensive stuff, store brand works GREAT!

BTW--- LOVE your Laundry Loot Jar!

Amanda:I love your jars, especially the Laundry Loot one. I know all us Moms ahve collected change from the washing machine, now we have somewhere to put it! It reminded me of a saying I used to use on a plaque...Mom never picks anything up off the floor, unless it's Money! LOL. I actually got that from a 12 year old boy who had me do it on a magnet for his Mom for Mother's Day. He told me she said that all the time. Share more...we love these! they are SO kool!
