Corner Kid/Naughty Kid

I am looking for a pattern for those little dolls that look like a kid standing in the corner. They are called corner kids/pouting kids/naughty kids/timeout kids, something like that.
I broke the leg on mine, hoping to fix it but would like a pattern or instructions on making them. I'd like to make one for a friend.

I have 3 (I think) ways to making Pouty Babies. Here's 1:

POUTY BABIES EXTENDED DIRECTIONS
supplies:
1- 3lt. pop bottle with the bottom part cut off,
2- 4- 20oz. pop bottles with the bottom cut off of 2 of them,
3- 1- 6" Styrofoam ball,
4- duct tape, hot glue, polyfil just a little, muslin (lg. enough to cover ball), clothes size 12-18 months. Long sleeve shirt only preferably hooded and pants, shoes size 6-8 preferably vinyl or leather (high tops work use larger size), sand, dirt or water to weight 2 of the 20 oz. bottles, small piece of ribbon to secure muslin around head.
5- First cut off bottoms of 3 lt pop bottle . then cut off bottoms of 2 - 20 bottles and fill the other 2 with sand or whatever. Insert the filled ones into the cut off bottoms of the 20 ozers. and secure. These will be the legs. Then insert the top of the legs into the bottom of the 3 lt. bottle and angle the body forward slightly. secure with duct tape. I go 1/2 up the chest of bottle and between each leg. Then make a hole in ball to fit over the top of the 3lt. bottle make it a tight fit, tape to secure. Cover head with muslin and tie tight at lower part of bottle neck.
6- Put pants on legs and cuff if needed. Put shirt on from leg part or put on before adding head. Lightly stuff arms (sleeves of shirt) with polyfil and bend up toward face , hot glue with the cuffs of the shirt together(picture a small child hiding their eyes). Put hood on head and secure. Or if you don't have a hooded shirt cover head with a bonnet or a baseball hat backwards (the brim to the neck). The hands should pretty well cover the face, this is the way you want it.
7- Put stuffing in toes of shoes and put on bottle feet. Glue to secure, also glue pant cuff to shoe. He or she is done. Stand in a corner or really anywhere, cause he could just be playing peekaboo.
8- Hints:
You can adjust their height by where you cut the bottles. Jogging suits work great. Or a pair of pants with a jacket with a hood. Make sure to wrap legs onto body good for strength, and pick up by bottom only.

The 2nd is:

First step, pick out the clothes you are going to use. I prefer about 18 month size, take a piece of 3/4" pvc pipe cut two pieces the length of the legs for the clothes, then cut one piece about 5". Now drill or melt holes all the way through on one end of each leg piece and on each end of the piece for the waist, wire these together in U shape.
Now take your pants and hot glue socks into the bottom of the legs Stick the PVC pipes into the pants and stuff with cotton batting Hot glue either pant hose or socks to the sleeve of the top (I prefer to use knee high panty hose) Hot glue waist of top to waist of pants Stuff
Now take one knee high hose or tube sock and stuff in toe portion tightly to form circle for head and neck.
Hot glue to neck of top.
Hot glue hands in place to front of face (no eyes, mouth, nose needed) You can get the hair at craft stores, Wal Mart, etc. hot glue to top of head.
I have put baseball hats on boys, bonnets, on girls, bows, etc.
Many variations, just use your imagination. I have even hung a blanket over one arm. I have also used blanket footed pajamas, then you don't need socks for the feet.
Put some shoes on. and Viola! Sweet Baby!
Oh yes, you can even cut another piece of pcv at knee and wire together as if the child were on bended knees saying night time prayers or laying on tummy with feet up in air.

I have tried to cover everything, but may have left something out. Materials list for Pouty Babies.
two-18" pieces 3/4" PVC pipe.., one-4 1/2" piece 3/4" PVC pipe, two 3/4" PVC elbows, quick setting glue, 18 months t-shirt, 18 months tights, one mans size sock, 2 bags fiberfil, size 2T shirt & pants, toddlers baseball hat, size 4 baby shoes.
Glue one elbow onto one end of each long PVC pipe, and glue the short piece to each elbow forming a short of U shape.
Sew the 18 months t-shirt to the 18 months tights leaving about an inch of the t-shirt hanging over the tights. Insert the PVC pipe "armiture" into the t-shirt and tights body and stuff around it.
Put stuffing into the toe end of the mans sock until a head size shape forms. Cut off the excess sock, and sew the head to the body.
For the hands, cut two circles from the excess sock, run a row of gathering stitches around the outside edges, put a handful of stuffing into the circles and draw up the gathering stitches, then sew the hands to the body.
Now you are ready to dress your baby, then put a hat on his head (For a boy: cut the curly dolly hair in about 1" pieces, fold in half and glue around the edges of the hat. I haven't tried the dolly hair on a girl yet.), and finally lean him in the corner.

Thanks for the great instructions. My naughty kid is/was made from particle board. It was so weird finding it in a craft stoe because it had on this outfit that was exactly like one Miriam had. It also had some blonde hair sticking out from under the bonnet. It looked exactly like Miriam would have if she had been put into a corner.
Since I broke one of the legs I want my husband to try to make her some new ones from scrap metal. (he has all kinds of scrap metala at work).

Corner Kid/ Naughty Kid

I'm not sure they still have the pattern for this doll in the pattern books at fabric stores or WalMart, but I would look there first. It would be in the craft section. If you have no luck, you might try E Bay.Another idea would be to contact the different pattern companies. There is usually a 1-800 number somewhere on your pattern envelopes or sometimes on the pattern sheets. Good luck.

This is the doll that I made a few years ago. dh cut a 2x4 for the legs to the size I wanted, I think I had 18" legs, then the body was also a 2x4 cut to the size to gowith the legs.Ye dilled a hole thru the body to put a coathanger thru for the arms. The body was put between the legs and he drilled a hole thru all three pieces so the legs would move and the body could sit. I used a 8" stryo ball fot he head and used pantyhose placed over the ball. I padded the legs, body adn arms with fiber fill so the they felt like real legs and arem and body. I hot glued it on. Then I pulled panty hose over the legs, and the body, and the arms.I bought clothes at yard sales and dressed the doll and put shoes on the legs by hot glueing thenm in place.I used curly hair on the head and then placed a hat on the head . I pulled the arms together and hot clued them in place, and I was done, I hope you can understand the directions cause nothing was written down, I just went with it as I went a long.

Those directions do actually sound easy.
I don't know if you read my post but I had one of these dolls, but I broke a leg. So I decided to pull it all apart and redo it. (Boy, does my husband love me when I come up with ideas).
Any way, I got it put back together and covered it with an old sheet to make a little ghost. It turned out really cute. I wish I had remembered to take pics. Maybe this year.
