| Good morning all!!
No Martha here either. Also, no Christmas dinner at home. My boyfriend wasn't able to be here, so the presents are still here, and I finally opened the cryovac packaging on the ham steak and ate 1/2 of it myself, along with the potato salad and steamed all the asparagus. I will be making asparagus vinegrette today with those leftovers.
Martha didn't show up at my friend's Christmas brunch either. Max, the big yellow lab loves chocolate, and was trying to invade the gift bags I brought for the kids. when he couldn't get to them - he made a mad dash for the dining room table and the cinnamon buns. Luckily the man of the house (6'5") dove in there just in time to save the food. The kids (20, 18 and 16) are still sitting at a table in the kitchen, they are boys and will spill everything on the rugs. So they are still relegated away from the adults (the rest of us).
And when I got to Christmas dinner - no Martha there either. My friend's daughter was presiding over not quite organized chaos. There were far too many people for the house, and far too many children for the children's bedroom. But it all mellowed out after everyone had made a trip to the micro-sized kitchen she has for the "buffet" - everything sliced, diced, or still in the jar with a pickle fork inside.
But, and I must remind myself of this too - the food tasted just fine, the kids were fun, and all in a good mood (except the 2 year old one with ADD), the adults were all civil to one another, and no one was drinking and being disgusting.
I am not so sure Martha is needed.....
Take care all!! Norma
