What themes are popular for birthday parties now?

What's the most popular themes for kids' birthday parties in your area?

Absolutely no idea these days my boys are past it all.
I have hear that a lot of people spend big though on those blow up castles etc depending on the theme, for us it was always the simple things that the boys liked at the time, they only got a party every 2yrs (4,6,8yo etc).
I've also heard that a parent party is being thrown for the party kids at the same time, that was never a thing of our parties either and most times the parents want parent party food and drink and that could be a huge expense.

I think I'm glad my kids are past it lol

I haven't heard of the parent/child parties but I've seen the blow ups around.

Around here, it's a challenge among many families to try to have a better party than the last one.

We had a bowling party at our local bowling alley for my daughter last year mainly because we just don't have the room here in our apt. and it is so very hot and buggy at the end of May when her BD is. The party went over well.

I'm sure with Cars 2 coming out now, there will many parties with that theme.

I sometime wonder if parents make the kids parties for themselves and how they're seen or for their kids, it should be all about the kids.
My boys loved bowling parties or if not a big party in their room we'd fill up the cars do the bowling then come home for pizza and cake, just as good and can be cheaper.
