Food Inc. - the movie -- Has anyone heard about this?

This is a movie that is produced by the founders of Chipotle restaurants. ***after more reading, it looks like Chipotle's restaurants are not the producers but have signed up to show the movie for free in certain areas. The restaurant chain says that it is a firm believer of what the movie has to say. You can read more in the link in my other post below or you can go to Chipotle's website for more info. ***

It tell a story of how unaware we are of the food that we are buying in supermarkets.

I have not seen this movie yet but my dh said that many of the guys who he works with have said that after watching it, they will not be eating the same way. One of the guys said that he had to turn off the movie because he said that he wouldn't eat again if he didn't.

I haven't looked into Chipotle's to see if they totally back up what they are saying.

I am going to rent this if I can find it in our movie store.

Has anyone else seen or heard about this? What's your opinion on it?

Why should we trust a restaurant company to tell us what we shouldn't buy in supermarkets?

Just wondering...what's Chipotle's motivation in making this movie? I'm going to look into this further--you've got me curious now.

We watched the movie and found it both interesting and disturbing. NOT for younger kids to watch.

I have watched it and it is indeed extremely disturbing. I don't know where the info. came from about Chipotle's Restaurant making this but that is not true, no where on it does it say anything about that. Dh and I have completely changed our eating behavior after watching this movie, we no longer eat fast food (well sigh! I do in a emergency but very rarely) dh would rather starve. We only buy organic chicken now that has been certified organic, I buy my eggs from a local farmer and they are fed steroid, antibiotic free grain and free range chickens. We planted our veggie garden this year (huge enough to last us till next season) that we will can and freeze and it's from organic seed..

It is amazing when you look at this movie how it really does explain why obesity is so high and we are all so sick.

Another movie I want to watch is Supersize Me.

Need to watch this movie but it does scare me..... We need to know where our food comes from.
