  • Car Trips With Kids - Are we there yet? How often do parents want to ask this question when traveling with a car full of unhappy, restless kids? By following a few guidelines, your next family trek can be a pleasant one.
  • Creating a Travel Journal for Kids - Creating a travel diary or journal is a wonderful activity that will not only keep your children busy in the car on a long trip, but it will preserve their memories for a lifetime.
  • Fun at the Beach Survival Kit - If you live near a beach, whether it be the ocean or a lake, it's a great way to enjoy time with your kids and keep away the boredom bug. If you don't live near the water, but are planning a vacation to the beach, here's a list of items that are a must have!
  • Hotel Stays With Small Children - Packing up and flying or driving with small children can be stressful enough. You certainly do not need to add hotel hassles once you arrive at your destination. Staying in a family oriented hotel will help, but it won't eliminate all of the headaches.
  • Kid Friendly Cruising - Let's face it. When it comes to taking a vacation, parents do not usually get to go alone. Once in awhile we get a break from the kids, but most of the time if we want to go on vacation, the whole family goes. So how can parents plan a trip that will be enjoyable for everyone involved? What about a cruise?
  • Making a Family Museum Visit Fun for Toddlers, Teens, and In-Betweens - Today, many museums are interactive learning centers that give families an opportunity to explore, learn, create their own art, and, yes, even touch some exhibits. With all of this variety and activity, how can parents ensure that their children won't become overwhelmed, tired, or too distracted to enjoy the experience? The key is in the planning.
  • Stress Free Travel With Kids - Picture this....its time to head to Grandmas for the weekend, and you can just see it now. You have screaming kids in the backseat, carsickness, boredom, Goldfish crackers flying everywhere inside your mini-van, and you and your hubby are praying that some auto manufacturer will design an optional sound-barrier button in future models of their cars that will go up and down between the front and back seats.
  • Stress-Free Travel With Your Children: Part II - Air travel makes me queasy. No, I dont suffer from motion sickness, Im the mother of two toddlers and the prospect of flying with them literally makes my stomach churn. Boarding the plane with my two sweeties, I see the wide-eyed stares of the other passengers and can only imagine what is going through their minds.
  • Summer Photo Tips: Photography on the Beach - What's a beach? To us, it's any sandy stretch on the edge of a lake, a river bank, or the ocean. It's a great place for fun and relaxation, and we hasten to add, a great place to take pictures - anytime! While we have summer's warm and sunny weather and long lazy days in mind as we write this, photography on the beach can give great results any time of the year, in any weather, from sunrise to sunset.
  • Taking a Road Trip with Your Baby - There's no question: Marathon car trips with a baby on board take a good amount of planning and organization. But it can be done - and yes, it can even be fun!
  • Taking The Road Less Traveled - The American family road trip is becoming a forgotten pastime. In an effort to preserve the archaic but precious method of family travel, I packed my husband and three kids, ages 3, 5 and 7, into a minivan and headed from Oregon to Mexico. I was not only excited to reach our destination - a Baja beach (yes, we were camping) - but I was challenged by the idea of traveling over two thousand miles in a confined space with three short attention spans and two weeks' worth of living items. In space (and sanity) saving efforts, the Legoes and Polly Pockets were left at home. Each child was allowed one carry-on stuffed friend.
  • Travel Games for The Preschool Child - Planning a road trip to Grandma's house this holiday season, but dread the drive with the kids? Make it a fun ride with these fun games and activities made just for travelling.
  • Travel Health & Safety - Travel with kids can be an enriching experience for the entire family. In addition to recreation and relaxation, family vacations are a wonderful learning opportunity for children of all ages. Yet when traveling with kids there are a few travel health and safety issues to consider whether you are taking them out of state or abroad. The following tips will ensure you are prepared in the event a child falls ill or requires medical attention on the road.
  • Travel Lap Desk with Wipe-off Top - Spring Break is just about here! Make one of these great travel lap desks to keep your kids busy for hours on that long car ride!
  • Travel Tips - Though it appears the summer vacation season is drawing to a close, there are still several holiday travel days upon us. Here are some great tips to add to your suitcases and agendas for this holiday season and next summer's family vacation.
  • Travel Tips for Families on the Go - I can honestly say that some of my fondest childhood memories include our cross country car trips. Not only did we cover the state of Ohio from South to North every Thanksgiving and August Hayden family reunion for as long as I can remember, but when I was 10, we took our first of many trips to Long Boat Key, Florida, a mere 22 hours and counting from our home in Cincinnati and later in Lincoln, Nebraska. Can you say road trip?
  • Traveling With Pets - Traveling with a pet can be one of life's great joys (think John Steinbeck in Travels with Charley). If you don't plan well, however, it can also mean misery and discomfort for you, your pet or both. Keep these handy tips in mind when traveling with animals so everyone enjoys the journey.
  • Vacation Savings - It's time to get the suitcases out of the attic and start thinking about the great family vacation! And we can expect to spend pretty freely to support that get-a-way. The average family will spend about $3,000 on food and lodging for a two week vacation.
  • When is Traveling Better With the Kids? - Once you become a parent, the whole concept of vacation changes. Really, can you call it a "break" when you're lugging overstocked diaper bags, managing meltdowns in previously quiet museums, and fielding complaints about how boring nature is?
