Review: Sure Fit Slipcovers
by Amanda Formaro
If you have a child who's now in college, or maybe one that's heading there in the fall, then you know that dorm furnishings are often hand me downs or thrift store finds. Whether they are in the middle of their semester or just looking into furnishing their own dorm or apartment, chances are good that the furnishings are most likely in need of a slight touch up.
College life can significantly increase the wear and tear on couches, sofas and futons. Without having to purchase all new pieces, furniture can look brand new for much less by using slip covers. A slipcover is also a practical gift for college kids coming home for the holidays or for high school graduates heading off to a life on their own.
Sure Fit, the leading manufacturer of slipcovers is featuring its new fall and winter line for college and first apartment updates.
We decided to give them a true test run. We ordered two of the Stretch Suede sofa covers to cover two completely different coaches in my daughter's new apartment. There are four people living there with friends coming and going regularly.
Easy to Use
It was important that we get a true sense of Sure Fit's instructions, so I did not help my daughter or her friends put the slipcovers on. In fact, i wasn't even there. They had no problems covering the couches and were able to easily understand everything and had no trouble at all.
The Fit
Because of the wonderfully stretchy fiber, Stretch Suade, the slipcovers that she chose fit snug and don't bunch up or move around. There are college kids plopping down on the couches regularly and they don't constantly have to readjust the fit. They stay on great and look wonderful.
How They've Lasted
She's had the slipcovers for almost three months now and everyone loves them. They turned what they called "granny couches" into a budget friendly stylish look for their living room.
So if you have a college student living in a dorm or their own apartment, be sure to look into Sure Fit Slip Covers as an alternative to pricey furniture that can wear out quickly.
