Bosch Junior Workbench Review
by Sarah Dees
Tools are always a favorite with the preschool crowd, and tools that are realistic are even better! My sons were delighted to receive the Bosch Toy Toolbox and Junior Workbench from One Step Ahead. The toolbox is fantastic because it looks like Dad's, complete with a compartment for small items built into the lid and a lift-out tray on the inside.
I was impressed with the quality of the toolbox, especially the latch. My three year old son was impressed with the set of six tools that came with the toolbox. He loves the fact that the drill really works and that he can switch out the drill bits. The toolbox set also includes pliers, a hammer, a wrench, a saw, and a screwdriver.
The Bosch Junior Workbench is great for little builders! One Step Ahead recommends this set for ages 2 and up, and they are correct that it is well suited for toddlers. The workbench comes with a hard hat and several tools. Little builders can hammer the toy nails into the top of the workbench, and the set comes with plastic boards that can actually be screwed together as well.
There is a real working vice on the side of the workbench that can be opened or closed to hold the toy boards steady. My favorite part of the workbench is the set of gears that snap into the top. The gears can be taken off and rearranged, and children can turn them either with the handle or by using the toy screwdriver.
My three year old is not the only one who has enjoyed this set! My 11 month old son can often be found standing at the workbench or loading tools in and out of the toolbox. It's just the right size for him to hold onto, and something about the tools really captures his interest.
