Body Cleanses - Has anyone done one successfully?

I'm wondering if these 3 -4 day body cleanses - the natural kind with vegetable juices..etc, not powders or pills that you have to buy--do they really work?

No, it was something that I heard on TV. A doctor had his own body cleanse book and program that he was promoting. I don't even remember his name. I Googled "body cleanses" and found several links.

I just wondered if anyone had actually used one that worked.

I have a freind who does this at least once per year, she goes to a naturopath for the recipe of what she drinks.
Not for me and I have seen reports on tv from various Docs (these things reports do the rounds on tv quite often here) that if you cut out all the bad stuff and just eat uncooked foods (raw carrots, apples, celery etc, if it has to be cooked don't eat it) for 3 days and leave out the coffee and soft drinks junk food it is cheaper and better for your body in the end if you feel this is something you need to do.

Just what I have heard ......

What's the name of your book? Does it look like something that is "do-able"?

The concept makes sense to me -- fresh fruit and veggies, low carbs and some fiber...you'd have to feel better, I would think. I know that I feel much better after cutting out carbs for a period of time but I do miss the fruit.

I'm willing to try something like this if I can find one that's reasonable, not going to send me searching for things that I've never heard of or things that are going to cost a fortune.
