I've said it before Anna, and I'll say it again, money is filthy dirty and you can never know exactly where it's been.....
I have to count out the till where i work in the morning and your hands are always in need of a good scrub after...can literally see the filth on them...verses nothing noticable making change for a couple of people....still we wash our hands.

It kills me to see people put money in their mouth.

When I was a bank teller we used to joke about having the only job where you washed your hands BEFORE using the toilet. And of course we washed afterwards too.

I think about the restaurants who hand out your food or handle your food and then make change with the money.

I never pick up a magazine to read in a dr's office. Those magazines are full of germs.

I can't speak for other restaurants but we keep a bucket of bleach water that is changed very frequently to sanitize our hands after getting the till.Something that bothers me that I've noticed in fast food places is that everyone seems to be wearing thin gloves but guess what? They are protecting the wearer's hands, not the rest of us if those gloves aren't changed after handling money.....

Goodness I never thought about the picking up the magazines in the doctors office, that is so on target when you think about it. I usually try to take some crocheting with me when I go to the doctors but I'm usually pulled in very quickly. Dh's doctor on the other hand is pretty slow but I again usually will take my crocheting or sewing with me.
