Good morning all!!

I always was a 9pm to 5am sleeper, until January when I made a new years resolution to stay up until 10 and then get up at 6. I have not slept all the way through for many years - bladder wakes me up once, maybe twice a night, but I can usually get right back to sleep.

I have also decided to give up caffeine at night. I now drink water or juice with my dinner. I think that has helped with the overall sleep issue - I think I get better sleep now.

When I am ill, it all goes out the window as I believe in napping/sleeping to help get rid of a cold/flu.

Take care all!! Norma

7 1/2 will have me running like a well oiled engine, to bed by 10:30 and up by 6 am

sometimes I wake at 3 am and then its a rough night for I want to fall asleep at 5, if I didn't have to work it would be okay to sleep in until 7 but that is a luxury I don't have any more.

weekends is the same for it is too hard to get back on schedule on Mondays

naps are essential and I miss my 2 pm snooze for a half hour to get to 11 pm and the news so I watch Fox instead and miss the local news completely

It varies for me with usually getting about 6 hours of sleep on weekdays and maybe less on Fridays but I always need an afternoon nap on Sundays.

I take my vitamins at night, which seems to help me sleep better. If I do happen to wake up during the night I read, which usually relaxes me enough to go back to sleep.

I get somewhere between 4 and 6 hours depending on if I have to work or not...am up at 3am on work days. It will be much easier someday when our lil man doesn't wake up during the night and come to find Mama LOL.We don't have any trouble putting him to bed or getting him to go to sleep, he just wakes up at night and comes to find me I put him back to bed and sometimes can't fall back to sleep.

I would love to sleep 8 hours or more. I remember in my younger days sleeping 12 hours. Not any more. about 5 hours is average for me now. I just wake up. In the spring and summer, as soon as the sun comes over the horizon, I am up. It doesn't matter if there are black out curtains or not. If the sun is up, so am I. I could never live in Alaska or wherever else the sun shines for 24 hours. Yikes.

Blessed are those that can sleep! I JUST started running (I ran the LA Marathon 7 years ago, and when it was over, I sat down never to run again!!!) I started again just to help with my sleep. I am just ramping up now, but hope it helps. I do roam the house to check on sleeping parents, and listen for those wandering for bathroom breaks so I am sure that is part of it. But since I turned 35 - its been the pits. Keep your fingers crossed that this new routine does the trick. If nothing else, maybe my chest & back side will shrink! Moo!
