Question Small Business Advice?

Hello Ladies... I have a small business, and I am looking to expand by like 1 or 2 employees... I have a lot of responsibility with the business right now, and I really want to spend more time at home... Do any of you working mothers have any experience with hiring from online sites? I am looking to spend as little time as possible doing this, and it will be a professional position, administrative, etc... I also want to pay as little as possible for the postings... Any info would be appreciated... Thanks..
Peace and Harmony to all

I'm assuming because you said you want to be home more, this is not an online business, but rather a brick and mortar business? If so, and if you want to keep the cost of advertising down, I would suggest going to the local supermarkets, libraries, job centers, ANYWHERE that has a bulletin board, and hang up flyers.

You can also call employment agencies and find out what they can do for you, though I would imagine there will be a fee. However, the fee may not apply unless you actually hire someone from them.

You may also want to consider a temp agency. There are several benefits for you with a temp agency:

- you don't have to interview anyone

- if you aren't happy with who they send, simply call the agency and request a replacement

- for accounting purposes, this position is considered contract labor and there are no social security, medicare, federal, or state payroll taxes

- You pay a flat per hour fee to the agency

I have not had any experience with any of the online job sites, but I do know that Career Builder is a good source. Another one to check out would be

Good luck!

Don't forget to check with your local State Employment Office. There is no charge to Employers to use this often overlooked service. I have found some great help through this service. Check with local colleges and technical schools too. Good Luck!
