Standard Process Vitamins

Is anyone taking Standard Process vitamins? If so, do you think they are any better than vitamins you can get from Wal-mart?

Hi Tami!

Most of my supplements come from Wal-Mart with the exception of my multi-vitamin, which I purchase from GNC (a health food store.) The ONLY reason I purchase the multi from GNC is because the type of vitamins/minerals it contains and also the high "dosage" (for lack of a better word) of each ingredient. Majority of over-the-counter multi-vitamins simply don't contain enough mg to do your body any good.

Also, when taking vitamin E be sure it says "Natural". It should also say "d-alpha". You don't want the one with the "L" in it, i.e., "dl-alpha" as that is synthetic and your body can't use it.

Your vitamin C should also have Rosehips.

Calcium tablets should have magnesium and zinc in them, and Vitamin D in order for the calcium to be absorbed by your body.

I highly recommend the book "Aging Without Growing Old" by Judy Lindberg McFarland. Wish I'd had this info 30 yrs ago!
You can order from her website, but probably can find it cheaper at or other discounted websites.

They're natural, they're the best

YesDear, my father in law is a 40 year veteran Chiropractor and the leading distributor for Standard Process Vitamins in this area. He is constantly trying new and "improved" natural supplements and always goes back to the Standard Process line of products. My children have been on them literally since birth, crushing and adding to breast milk, then in juices and now they just chew them straight out the bottle, Ughhhhhhhhhhh. All I can tell you is that unlike most of the children their age they've never had tubes in their ears, they still have their tonsils and addenoids and to date only one of them has ever had the flu. They are now 21, 17 and 11 years of age and in excellent health and we are by far health nuts so I'm convinced it's the vitamins.

I went to the medical doctor for the first time in 10 years last week because I was experiencing pre-menupausal symptoms and they recommended harmones. My FIL asked me to try a regiment of supplements instead and I must admit, it's working wonderfully and without all the side affects my sisters and friends complain about on the harmone replacement therapy.

My best advice is to see it for yourself. I know it's a bit more expensive than the synthetic vitamins at wal mart that claim to be "natural" but in my opinion, my health is worth more than a few pennies saved. I've yet to see an armored car following a casket. JOKE.......LOL
