What's for Dinner March 2009

Welcome to the March 2009 "What's for Dinner" forum!

This forum is home to the Chef Guy award. You can ONLY get a Chef Guy here--and the only way to win one is to submit your favorite MAIN DISH recipes. If your recipe is chosen, it will be published in the "Time To Eat" newsletter from our sister site, MomsMenu, and you'll have a Chef Guy in your awards showcase.

Of course, we welcome all kinds of recipes here, but only main dish recipes can win a Chef Guy.

Happy face Sweet 'n' Sour Meatballs

Subbing. Started to post on the thread & saw we are into March already. I had a frozen pot pie.. hubby is working til late tonite so will make him a couple grilled cheese sandwiches.

Connie... must have been the rain this morning that made us on this side of the state want grilled cheese LOL. Don't have the soup, but DH don't care for it anyway.

Tomorrow I am having Sweet 'n' Sour Meatballs over rice.

3/4 lb. (3/4 of 16-oz. pkg.) frozen prepared meatballs

1 pkg. (16 oz.) frozen stir-fry vegetables (sliced green, red and yellow peppers and white onions)

1/4 cup apricot jam

1/4 cup KRAFT CATALINA Dressing

2 Tbsp. soy sauce

COMBINE all ingredients in large skillet; cover.
COOK on medium-high heat 10 min. or until meatballs and vegetables are heated through, stirring occasionally.
SERVE over hot cooked rice or pasta, if desired.

Add 1/2 tsp. each ground ginger and garlic powder to the sauce while cooking.
Serving Suggestion
Serve with your favorite steamed vegetable.

The meatballs look really good. I will have to try these soon.

Sunday dinner was whole chicken in oven bag. It turned out excellent very moist. Mashed potatoes, carrots and gravy. I have left over chicken to use later this week.

I made out my menu for the week. I was able to pick stuff from house and not have to go do a large grocery shopping this week.
Have a wonderful day.
