What's for Dinner - February 2005

This is going to be a short month.

For those whom celebrate, Valentine's Day is just around the corner.

Also for those interested, Mardi Gras is on February 8th this year.

So, what is YOUR family have for dinner this month??

Remember, any main dish recipe posted on this thread is submitted for consideration for the Chef Guy award!!!

Lots going on this month.....Super Bowl, Mardi Gras and Valentine's Day.........all in the shortest month of the year!

I have a big pot of beef veggie soup simmering on the stove for supper tonight. It will really hit the spot since it is cold & rainy here.

OK -
I jumped to February.... and we are at a balmy 29*! LOL
But I am tanning while cooking!!

Anyone have a cole slaw recipe that is unique?? I am bored with the same old... thinking of adding apple but even that is not that different in flavor... ANY different spices?? It is rare that I come up with a Brain Cramp.... but today I have been busy with that dang contraption that Alexander Grahm Bell invented! (LOL) So I am just too scattered in things I am doing.

Webe, there are quite a few recipes at the link above.
I recommend the one called "Hill's Slaw." It's FANTASTIC. Not a mayo-based slaw. You really do need to make it a day ahead, though....so I hope this is not for tonight's dinner!

Cole Slaw

Sorry if this is a back to back post,
Sue Imake the reg mayo type cole slaw but once in awhile I make it with the grated cabbage, and add red onion and orange slices(or mandarin orange in a can) with Kraft House Italian Lite Dressing. Its a good change !!

Where did January go????

Dinner tonight is leftover turkey. Turkey with gravy over homemade bread, with leftover mashed 'taters.

Trying to plan for the rest of the week, but not quite inspired.

I have a long weekend coming. Four days off! I'll get to spend lots of time with my friends on FC.

Glad to help

I am wanting some slaw now! I think I will make some before Sunday so we can have it for Super Bowl.

So, what's everyone serving for Super Bowl parties? (Do we need a separate thread for that)?

GO EAGLES!

We are having some cousins over, with their 4 kids. Should be lots of fun.

I'm planning to serve meatballs and sauce, and a pot of sausage and peppers, to make sandwiches. A raw vegetable platter with ranch and catalina dips and some cole slaw, and maybe macaroni salad.
I'll also make some Chili Cheese Dip for appetizers and serve it with tortilla chips.
Haven't decided what's for dessert yet. Maybe brownies. Everyone likes them and they're easy!
