Sonya~~if I was just a wee bit closer, I'd bring you some of my homemade chicken noodle soup. It makes a huge pot, and I even split it with dd & her dh and we still have at least 2 bowls left! Can you settle for a ((((hug)))) and a wish that you start feeling better real soon?

Tonight, dh is going to grill out a steak for us. It should warm up to about 50-53º, but he doesn't mind grilling out unless it is really raining or snowing. I'll make some twice baked potatoes and throw together a salad. Are the price of tomatoes high everywhere, or just in my neighborhood?? They have come down a tiny bit, but geez~~they sure are pricey. Dgd will be here tonight (almost 18 months old) and so I will whip her up a little mini meatloaf, mac'n cheese and peas. She likes salad, so will offer her some of that too.

Tomorrow, is my friend's Annual Chili Cook-off. I won 1st prize last year , and back in 1997 also. This is serious, folks --with each pot being numbered (can't visibly show your name on it) and everyone gets to vote. Even the kids. Really, it is a hoot! We look forward to it every year! With that in mind, I am off to the store to get my secret ingredients. Wish me luck!!

Have a great day!!

laceykat - they can be baked if you prefer, either way is good-I just usually start frying when I'm still putting them together.
enjoy

Congratulations, Catlover! Awsome news!
Lacykat-I broil meatballs on a cookie sheet at 300* until browned. If you line your cookie sheet with foil, it eliminates cleaning the mess.
Dinner tonight is bacon cheeseburgers and salad. After grocery shopping all day, that's all I have energy for.
Pag36, I am sorry for the loss of your friend. Take care and have a great day everyone.

Congrats Catlover on your chefs guy. Thanks JJOJ, Losing JD was not an easy road and he died on anniversary of burying my Pop (91) and buried today on anniversary of losing my Mom (95) so been a sort of sad few days.

Thanks barbszy for the card how very sweet and thoughtful of you. Take care all and God bless oh I had decided on soup and sandwiches tonite but when I got home just a few mins ago found that Judy had little coc tail hotdogs in small crockpot with bbq sauce, plus a rice dish and something else sooooooooooooo Mom/Granny does not have to worry about dinner just eat it lol.

Thanks Abear for the comfort food thread.

Congratulations Catlover!

I forgot to take my silver when I was exposed to a cold earlier this week, so I caught it. (dd and dgd gave it to me!) So, tonight will be easy--spaghetti. Dgd will be coming down tonight to spend the weekend with us and that is her favorite.
