What Did You Do Frugal Today~July 2018

For encouragement in frugal ways--large and small--look no further. This is where we share helpful hints for stretching our money, saving time and making sure we don't waste resources.

Remember, "frugal" does not mean "don't spend money!" It means "be wise with what you spend!"

What Did YOU Do Frugal Today?

Happy July everyone.

It's been pretty warm out West and now there are plenty of wildfires going on too.

We have been getting some things done on our house in preparation to put it on the market, not sure when that will happen though. We are doing some of the work ourselves. My job is to pack up the house, big job at this point.

I have stopped canning anything at this point till my kitchen is painted but I need to empty a freezer so it's easier to move when the time comes.

I have been having a times with the allergies but today it seems to be better. Thank goodness, I was beginning to feel like a zombie. Haha made me think of Danstigerangel; Laurie Mahoney cause she likes The Walking Dead tv show!

Anna, sorry to hear about your daughter and yr SIL. I do wish him well on his treatments.

Happy July Laurie and Anna! Packing up a house wow thatís a big move for sure! I would need a dumpster...maybe I should think about letting go of stuff even now...

In Florida and the weather is the same here as back home, been up to the Palm Beach airport last night with my hostess to get my host arrived from a business trip..and to Lauderdale on the Beach today for an ocean swim, hoping to see the Everglades tomorrow by bicycle, just cooling off now before I do a once over on the borrowed bicycle

Ellen....Glad to see you made it to the Beach. I would be afraid to go to the Everglades on a bike. It is loaded with all kinds of reptiles and bugs.
I did write to you on frugal last month before they closed it down for the month. I live over 3 hours from where you are. Florida is a big state to visit. We are more country where I live with lakes and different trees and landscaping.
Enjoy your time and take loads of photos to share on FB.

I would start paring down now Ellen. Start with some boxes with your kids name on them and anyone else in your family that there are things you want them to have. Have a drawer full of the kids momentos? box them up for each kid to take home. Have a sell/donate/trash/recycle boxes as well. If they are special items that your children want give it to them when they are home.

I keep tackling the clutter a little more each week as time allows. I'm not letting it get me down each box gone through is a victory.

Hello Girls! Hi Laurie! I had no idea you were moving.
I know what you mean about the allergies. And yes.....I am still a huge Walking Dead fan. lol
I have to get back on the frugal train. Ever since Dad died I've had trouble concentrating on things and I am just throwing stuff in my cart at the store. I have been spending double in gas running back and forth to Moms. Not complaining about that but I have to buckle down on the other things.
The AC decided to die in the middle of the heat wave. It is an old wall unit that was built in with the house . Hubby had to order another one. It will be picked up today. Hubby and ds are going to install it, Ouch on that expense. BUt I have big breathing issues and it is necessary.
Well....just thought I'd stop in and say hello.
Have a great day.

Just a quick note, I got to WW this morning and the gal there Terri was terrific, bought the mix and mugs for. Brownies in a cup, made lunch for us four with peanut butter and salsa chicken, corn on the cob, and marinated minted green bean salad, then the brownies with strawberries for dessert. Tonight we will eat Thai and have a short Mary Kay session with my host’s sister.

There is a breeze so the heat is fine, I’ve on,y a little burn on my knees from biking the everglades, we were in Tamarack maybe? We saw three alligators, loads of white and black birds, heard what we think were bullfrogs.

I understand Sueanne, sending my love to you across the state’s miles anyways! Xxxooo

Ellen ....Glad we made friends on F.B. now we can keep in touch or even chat with friends that we both know. Have a good time visiting with your friends in Florida. Being a care giver don't get a chance to travel as much anymore.

Gardening has given Me a chance to grow things that are healthy for my family. Just planted a Peach & pear tree. The figs are really ripening now.
