What Did You Do Frugal Today~June 2014

For encouragement in frugal ways--large and small--look no further. This is where we share helpful hints for stretching our money, saving time and making sure we don't waste resources.

Remember, "frugal" does not mean "don't spend money!" It means "be wise with what you spend!"

Good morning all!!

Anna, glad you focusing on your goal for the future, and not so much on your comfort right now. It helps you a lot that David is onboard with the meal plans, see he is changing somewhat. Just lead him through it one step at a time.

About the rat, I opened several bags of rat poison and put it out where Mark had told me they are nesting. Some of it was gone this morning, but not all. I was hoping for all of it to have been eaten. I also hope no other animals get into it.

I think we are still getting Florida tomatoes here. I know the corn we had on Memorial Day was from Florida, and it was really good.

My sister invited me to her graduation from Bible College on Saturday. So that will be my Saturday, celebrating with her.

Better go for now. Frugal will be just meals from home. I have Bible Study tonight - the last one until fall.

Take care all!! Norma

WOW Anna I had assumed the sugar content was with the 7up. I'd be using diet and more of it and ice to get more servings and a lower sugar content.

Norma I sure hope Mark has been doing some things to kill the rats since they are on his property. Would be a major turn off if I was looking at the house to move in. Wonder why they are so attracted to your house? I wonder if you sprayed vinegar around your house if that would neutralize whatever they are smelling.

We went to the library last night before ballet and signed up for the summer reading program and signed dd2 up for Splash at the YMCA for a free week of swim & water safety lessons. This will be the last year she is eligible for it I am hoping they give a certificate like they have in the past for a free 6 week session of swim classes for the fall.

Time to load the car up for my deliveries and book drops will be a busy 3 days of working in the rain maybe it will be hard enough to wash the shampoo out of my hair! LOL

Good morning all.

Read a lot, but failed to write anything down.

NORMA - Ick on another rat. I am with Roberta - that would not make it enticing to buy that house. I know me - I'd be telling people looking at it too!!

CHRIS - how are you doing sweety? Thinking of you.

I hope things are ok for KATHY. She hasn't been on in quite a while.

We got quite a bit of rain last evening - so no watering today. My rain barrels are both full again. It is hazy and muggy this morning. High today to be 85*. Looks like the last hot, hot day this week - back to upper 70's.

The garden has really grown in the past few days. Cukes are starting to vine. Several small yellow squash out there (real little).

Hope you all have a great day.

Just popping in to say hi.
My sis is picking me up soon to take me to the hairdressers. I was telling her that she could turn me upside down and use me as a mop, when she said I will take you. Great. With dh's new schedule (picks up 4 more students in the a.m.), I find it hard to get to the stores.

Afternoon all,

Ugh, to the rat! I have a phobia about rats ever since I was chased home from school by older children with their pet rat, it crawled all over my head. Oh the days of school bullying I certainly don't miss that!

Another no spend day. Visited my parents and played scrabble with mum. I seemed to have all consonants and mum had all the vowels, lol.

Very quiet here, just plodding along. Need to clean the kitchen floor last thing tonight, hubby is going to help me get behind the existing stove. New Stove is programmed to arrive on the 7am to 2pm slot tomorrow, I do hope it won't be 7am.

An easy dinner tonight of bacon and pea risotto. It is a recipe where you add the stock in one go, I can not faff about with adding the stock a ladleful at a time!

Hope you are doing Ok Chris?

I am thinking of Kathy and her daughter too.

Take care all.

liz, please post that all at once recipe, I don't want to 'faff' (!) about either when making risotto!

missi, I need a professional cut too but am making do, after not brushing out last night after washing it, it was certainly a mop head today, it's in a ponytail now

all, I've been distracted lately with the kitchen, camping, garden, school, and now work is picking up, sorry to miss everyone's posts...thinking of us all
