bluebird - sorry your turn out was so small. Look at the bright side - you and everybody you know can eat for a while. Wish it had been better for you, because I'm sure you worked so hard. SORRY
Jean - we usually have about 500 kids. They come to our neighborhood from all around. We have a candy outlet up the street, so I buy "boxes" of candy. Surprisingly it only cost me about $40 for all. They were all full size candies too. I think I enjoy it as much as the kids. Every year there are fewer in our neighborhood that hand out candy. So I try to buy plenty and make it nice. That was all basically between 6PM and 8PM. The kids get really excited that they get something big. At one point I handed out a box of 50 in about 10 minutes. There was a rush!!! One year when it was rainy and cold - we had about 250. Otherwise 400 - 500!! Crazy huh??? The neat thing was they were all soooooo polite. I had a ball!!!!!!

Karen Happy birthday I hope it was a good one!

I just cant keep up with all you ladies here!

Connie, Sorry the turn out wasnt what you expected.

Lisa, Glad that shed is coming along!

Frugal here this week has been hanging laundry in the basement I have 3 lines and a drying rack. So far so good! Hope I do see a difference in the electric bill.

Shopped at Aldis and got a few deals at Giant Eagle didnt even spend enough to get pts towards gas but thats ok I have to watch the bills very closly. We can make it on just dhs income and the child I have now BUT after the holidays I think I am going to look for a part time job because we have accrued some debt in the last few months ugh....

Hope everyone has a great week!

Cheryl, that is a LOT of kids! The one thing I've taught my kids, insisted on it, was they say thank you when the person gives them the candy. I saw so many kids, with their parents that grabbed the candy and ran, the parents not saying a word. My daughters noticed it too and said "mom, they didn't even say thank you, that's rude." I told them they're right, it IS rude!

DD1 is back from her Lifesavers camp weekend, happy to be home, had a great time. I'm happy to have her home, I missed her so much.

Jean, I really hope you feel better soon, medicine can really throw your system off. Mom Lisa here prescribes that you rest when you can!

My brother brought over his "old" dryer. Their washer went out so they bought a new set. I love inheriting things from others! Now dbf has to install it!

I'm going to go chase my kids into the shower. They've played hard this weekend outside, lovely 70 F weather for the last few days and the next couple, then Fall hits us again.

So frugal today is supper at home, a new to me dryer and the shed is about up!

Lisa

Ok, I am going to try this again...this is twice in the last hour that I have had to reset my password. I just wrote a long post and when I hit "Post Quick Reply", it said I was not logged in, and then I ended up having to reset my password. Is anyone else having this problem?

Karen. good going on canning all that deer!

Jamie, thank you so much for the recipe. They sound so good. I will be making some this week as my dh has brought in a case of sweet potatoes. That is great that you got the free underwear and you got a good deal on the clothes, too. Don't you just love free stuff?

Connie, I am so sorry about the fund raiser. That is so sad. Hugs.

Jean, I hope you are feeling better soon. I had trouble when I started taking my high blood pressure medicine, too. It will get better. Hugs.

Pootersmommy, I can't even imagine 400 kids! We didn't even get one. That would be so much fun!

Mom 2-4, Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!

Hugs to you all...Linda

Karen, congrats to your dh. Thats wonderful about the coupons. I love it when those kind of things happen.

Lisa, thats great about the new to you dryer. I have a lot of furniture in my house that used to belong to other family members. I am like you and glad to get it. I am glad your dd had a good time but is back home safe and sound.

Cheryl, I am very surprised you didn't spend a lot more than 40.00 with that many kids. I think that was very nice of you to give out the full size bars. I wish kids would still come here but I guess we just live too far back in the sticks for people.

Linda, thanks for letting me know you had trouble with the bp pills too. I guess when my body goes from extreme high blood pressure like last weekend to actually below normal it is going to throw me for a loop.

Connie and Lee I too love the Army Wives show. Dh doesn't so I guess I will be watching it on the reruns of the show unless dh falls asleep in his recliner like so many nights.

Mish, I am glad you enjoyed the movie.

Well supper ended up being frugal. I fried bologna and fixed sandwiches and hashbrowns. Cheap, quick and filling. I fixed me a grilled cheese. The guys understood since I didn't feel well and actually acted like they really enjoyed their meal.

Jamie, I want to try that recipe for the sweet potato chips too. I know the sweet potato is so good for us.

Well take care everyone.
Jean
