Happy Monday! (Yuck!)

Anna: Still thinking of you and your DH. I have you both in my prayers.

Nothing too frugal going on, other than I found some new frugal/food blogs. I love reading blogs.

I got a book from the library called Frugal Luxuries, I just havenít had time to crack it open yet. I find time to be one of my biggest problems, so to try and fit in everything, I end up staying up too late. Then, Iím hating it the next day.

Other than that, just cooking all meals at home and trying to combine all my trips if possible. I did get some good buys at Walgreens yesterday. Before my coupons and store coupons, my total was $32 and some change. After, I ended up paying just $18. I was pretty excited Ė that was almost half. I probably have more dish soap and bath soap than I need, but it will eventually be used. I just couldnít beat the price.

Well, Boy Scouts tonight and probably dinner with my sister and her family and then Iím going to bed early. Have a good day everyone!

We carved one pumpkin on Saturday and I toasted the seeds on Sunday today there are none to be found.

Wrote out bills this morning and dropped them off at the post office on the way back from taking the kids to band this morning before school.

Doing three loads of laundry back to back this morning debating on whether it strip the beds and make it a fourth load. Woke up so tired that I napped while taking care of the first two loads of laundry.

Working on getting some areas organized at home today and get a jump start on the week as we have something going on every night this week.

Good morning!
Pam, what a cute idea for a gift-love that! Practical, actually, because it would no longer have that irritating habit of randomly disappearing to wherever it is that remotes go.
Anna, you have been on my mind all weekend. I hope things are getting better for David. I can't imagine how tired and worrying it must be for you. I have to say that you have been a trooper through it all. Don't forget to take care of yourself, too. I have been praying for you both.
Lorimae, I have never had oxtail soup!
Mish, enchiladas sound delicious!
Mom2-4, Well, you have been just a little busy, haven't you! Good job on getting organized.
Frugal for here has just been staying mostly at home and out of stores. I need to bake more bread and do some cleaning and picking up around the house. Take care friends, and I hope you all havwe a great start to the week!
Jamie.

Hello

Well another week ahead of us, may each of you ease into it .

This afternoon I go for orientation at my new job. So will be anxious to find out what my hours /days of work will be, also who and how many clients I will have.

Spent the afternoon ( yesterday) with my middle dd. Was sort of like old times . Did a lot of snooping at stores, didn't spend a cent , still enjoyed the outing.

Going to go have a cup of hot cocoa, possibly some toast, will read the morning paper to. Feeling bad for the Rockies, they did try hard to win.

Prayers go out to all those who have a full plate . Although the Lord only gives us what we can handle, it does seem like a full load at times.

Joy

Frugal for me?Today went to Lowes and we have the credit to use up and paid that bill in person. Then i went to Sams and got the dryer sheets, chicken breast(Which i was in shock as to how much it has gone up) and some milk too. That was almost 27.00 dollars. Then went to goodwill didn't find any deals and i wasn't able to find any coats for my friend. Then i went to Sears and i ended up looking around the mall trying to get in the holiday spirit.I went back to Sears andpaid that bill too.I was in Kohls for abit but didn't buy anything.I did go back to wm and spent 12.00 on the candy and some halloween peeps for my dh.We tend to get alot of tricker or treaters in our side of town hope we have enough.

Mish

Just a update before I go back to the hospital.

David had his test done today, he doesn't have any blood clots thank you everyone for your prayers. They shocked his heart and it seems to be back in rythym he will have to take meds. to keep it that way... it looks like he'll be in there at least till tommorow or Wednesday. I'm exhausted, rushed to get up there by 6:30am as they said he could go for the test as early as 7am didn't go till about 11am, didn't get back to his room till 2pm. We are having the worst time getting the dietician to get him meals without beef, 3 X now they've brought beef food including tonight (sigh).

Will come back on later but just wanted to post a update.

Good evening all!!

Anna, glad to hear your dh is doing better. Sorry about the poor diet though.

Oxtail soup sorta tastes like beef. Do not be afraid of oxtails if you see them in store. I always make a veggie soup with them. They make a great broth. And there is a little meat, and a little marrow for the flavoring.

Chicken feet is a different story, I run from them. I can't imagine them being clean, so I can't wrap my mind around them.

Frugal today was taking lunch. And eating from home for dinner.

Well ladies, better go for now. My nephew is threatening to come over.

Take care all!! Norma

Anna, I am also glad to hear that David is doing better.

About college food, we were saving money by bringing our dd1 about $35 a week in breakfast and snacks, but then her roommate decided to eat it without asking. She even served her friends the hoagies that were meant for dd2 for her 13 hour work day on Saturday. That just stinks but dd1 has been trading roommate horror stories with others and we feel she is getting off easy with just some food mooching.

Anyways, I am on freecycle now looking for a little fridge for the office because we decided she could just keep her food with me, packed lunches, juices for breakfast, etc and weíll save that way. I did have to put $100 into her meal plan points just to get her through the rest of the semester because we had bought the second lowest plan because of the fridge in their room.

I brought leftovers to work and put on my blinders in the mall after paying my Sears bill. Be happy for me because today I paid off the last of the credit cards and one is chopped up and one is not being used and the furniture bill is finally paid off too. Very very relieved tonight, feel like a load of bricks is off me now.

We moved a couple pieces of furniture around and now I can talk with my dh in the kitchen easier while he fusses with the dog and heating up leftovers, this chair is in a better part of the house to talk with everyone. He chuckles at our posts.

We took the last a/c out of the windows as last night was the first frost.

Leftovers and a frozen pizza for dinner and a ton of water, I get so thirsty and don't drink during the day because of being so busy to trot to the ladies room all the time.
