Went to the grocery this morning and saved 60% combining sale prices with coupons. I picked up a 50 ct box of Nexell bandaids for $1, 4 boxes of Quaker granola bars for $1 each, 4 packs Pillsbury waffels for $.40 each, 2) 2lt Pepsi for FREE, 2) Speed Dry Deod for $.50 each, 2) BE sausage for $1.39 each, 2) Orville Red. popcorn for $1.39 each, 2) trial High Enderance body wash for $.29 each which will be stocking stuffers.

Have the AC set at 78 and running a floor fan to move the air. Sorting out the play room to get it organized once again and to decide what is going in the garage sale in July. Ate leftovers for lunch.

Oh wow. This is so different. It is going to take time to get used to.

Just staying home. It is to hot to go anywhere. So glad the AC is fixed.

RobertaD, great buys way to go.

Yesterday was our anniversary. 15 years. We had a nice quiet dinner together. Just some time to our selves. It doesn't happen often so we enjoyed it.

I reject your reality and substitute my own.

Yesterday I was frugal in the sense that I only bought things I had to, took advantage of sale prices, and didn't waste gas running around to places to get cheaper stuff when I would have just cost myself the "sale" price of the item by using the gas!

I ran to the one office supply store in my area that carries the fax print cartridge for our home fax machine. They have the name brand and a store brand which costs $3.50 less, so of course I got the store brand. Then across the parking lot is a new Super Target. DH needed some razor blades and we needed a few other little things, so rather than run to where I'd usually go, I went to Target. I got ibuprofen for 1.77 when I normally pay about $2.29 and the razor blades for $5 when I normally pay $6.

I also got a pair of black Cherokee shoes for 10.98, marked down from 19.99. I have several cases I'm working on which are coming up for trial over the next month, and I'll have to go to court a lot so I'll need to look nice. The black shoes I have now are pretty, and they fit well when I first bought them, but for some reason they've started to rub my feet the wrong way, and every time I wear them, if i don't remember to put band-aids on my pinkie toes I'll get really big blisters. I thought about it for a few days and decided that if I found a nice pair of shoes on sale that would work, I'd rather just not risk forgetting the band-aids and getting the blisters. Walking back to the car in those shoes after the blisters come is NOT fun, and for 10.98, I think the comfort will be well worth it. Sometimes being frugal is not about not spending money- it's about getting your money's worth for what you pay.

Dinner last night used up stuff we already had in the house, so no store run was needed. Today I planned our dinners for the next three nights, and we'll use only stuff that we've already got in the house. I've got stuff to make sandwiches and nachos for lunch, plus lots of grapes and apples and popcorn to snack on. I poured some Kool-Aid popsicles earlier for a cheap treat.

I forgot to post another recent frugality...

I've been getting into scrapbooking and had wanted a Sizzix (die cutting machine) and accessories. My Mom bought the machine for me for my birthday and I found accessories @ ebay for less than half so I bought two alphabet sets and a set of hearts. I saved @ least $160! I ebay!

Oh, well this is nice!
Today wasn't all that frugal as I had to take ds to the dentist. I had to do the co-pay and then he had 2 cavities. Thankfully, insurance will cover a lot of it. Other than that, we are eating freezer meals until I shop on Friday and making snacks from scratch. I had to turn the ac back on because it's really hot today. I have it on between 78-80. I have to admit that I like hot weather over cold any day, though. I love summer. Well, take care ladies, and I'll talk to you later!

Beckanoah, you said that you spent $70 on groceries and that wasn't frugal.
You are not the only one who has made a statement like that on this board, and I just want to say that you can spend $70 frugally at the supermarket, or very unfrugally.
Frugal doesn't mean that you don't spend any money. It means you spend what you have wisely and you use what you have wisely.
I could go to the store and blow $70 on junk food, candy, soda, prepared foods that are not only expensive but high in sugar, fat and salt. Or I could go to the store and wisely spend $70 on fresh produce and healthy ingredients for healthy, delicious food for my family. Then I could come home and prepare that food, and make sure it doesn't get wasted. That's spending $70 frugally.
At some point we all have to buy food. It's the choices we make when we buy and prepare the food that makes the purchase frugal, or not. So please don't think you are not frugal because you spent $70.
I think all of us fall into the trap of thinking that frugal means not spending. Not always true.
