Sometimes on old threads, if there arenít any postings in 30 days it falls off but if you do a search itíll bring it up, just post and everyone who used to be on it will get notices of a new posting.

Songberries

Enjoy being a new grandma and have a good trip. See you when you get back.

Good job on getting the free car stuff, what a deal! Seems like every time we buy something like that the offer has expired, Grrr!!!

FutureTeacher

Our Pepsi prices have been really high here this year over $3.00 a 12 pack on sale. Coke is much better, running around $1.99 a 12 pack but dh doesnít like Coke. Iíve gotten hooked on that new Dr. Pepper Cherry Vanilla (diet) it is awesomeÖ taste just like a shake without the calories. I was talking with a co worker and weíre going to make these up this summer with sugar free vanilla ice cream, YUM.

Leighann

We like GFSís corn too. They have several blends we like that we use with our salmon, sometimes on spaghetti, etc. And now we are buying itís either 2 or 3 lbs. Canít remember Romaine lettuce for our salads it cost less than $3.00 a bag. I rarely shop in the regular grocery stores anymore except for special things like hair conditioner, Slimfast, deoderant for dh, etc. everything else I buy at GFS or Aldiís.

I still use my homemade body powder for deoderant have absolutely no problems with sweating at all. That saves tons of money as dh is the only one using it. I still use my own hand made soap, Pine Tar and Coffee Soaps so again that saves a lot of money.

OSI--
I will have to try the new cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper--I'll just add it to my current soda addiction I've really try to quit drinking soda--I know it's expensive and bad for me, but as far as vices go, at least it's a fairly tame one! Still, I've gotten down to 1 or 2 a day--I don't see myself ever giving it up completely. And I love the idea for the floats!

Songberries, enjoy the new baby! Hope you arrive before the baby does!

leasmom, good job on losing the weight!!

Rivermom, that is neat that you live so close to a ski slope! And good luck finding the snow boots. As all our stores have all the spring items out already. I didn't look recently buy, probably even the bathing suits are out! I was looking for a new one for DD. Hers was all stretched out due to all the chlorine. But, than my aunt gave one with the box of clothing she gave last week!! It is a like brand new disney princess one piece, and it is even from the Disney store. A store I don't dare buy any clothing from!

On the soda, it is expensive in our area too this year. I wish I had known it but it was on sale last week at a store I don't frequent often a case (24 pk) for $4.44!! and the same week the 12 pks were $4.59! Go figure who in their right mind would even buy the 24 pk.???

Hi, everyone!
Rivermom, I bet that is a blast!
On the soda, I saw that at Kroger soda is on sale 4-12 packs for 10.00. I wish that they had Dr Pepper with Splenda. I think I have a sensitivity to aspartame.
Anna, I found the sugar- free syrup in the coffee and tea aisle at Walmart, next to the creamers. It was DaVinchi- 12 oz. for 3.37 in vanilla or hazelnut. It's sweetened with Splenda, I believe.
Didn't get to go to Gordon's like I wanted to because after getting done at Aldi I was exhausted. I'll have to make a point to go to Gordon's first next time. Take care!

Thanks for the tipÖ I no longer buy Folgers or Maxwell House although that does look like it might be a good buy? I have a raincheck for Krogers when they were doing that 10 for 10.00 sale awhile back on coffee. I buy 20 cans or more if I can afford it when they have those sales and get a raincheck if I can. Canít beat that price, 1.00 for I think itís now like 11 oz. Instead of a pound. Thatís a great price on the ham tooÖ not sure weíre going to make a ham for easter we didnít last year I donít think. We may do pork chops that day although we will be at my sisters for Ericaís birthday party and sheíll probably feed us something? I love going there, she has every kind of junk food known to man kind.

Idyroper

What does Buffalo taste like? We donít have that here. Iíve heard itís a lot leaner than beef.

Bluebird

I found a tip somewhere. Take a old dish drainer put it under your sink and put all your pots and pans lids in there like you stack your dishes. Makes it super easy to keep them organized and in one spot.

Rivermom

Thatís so sweet what your son said and you are right about commercialism and buying everything right now. Itís a shame that our local media isnít doing anything constructive to teach folks how to save money doing normal things like grocery shopping, etc. such as we do here on frugal living.

VickiLynn

Hope your sonís tooth is all better today and that it didnít cost too much to fix it.

Buffalo meat is sweet

It's a lean meat and very good. Out west they sell it at the grocery stores. I've eaten buffalo burgers, buffalo butt, buffalo heart, mutton-(sheep and it's good), deer-(yummy).
