We are having a early breakfast, then a 10:00 church service with a childrens program. We decided not to have a sunrise service..... We live 45 minutes from town... that is way too early for us! We are making all the food at the church so it is safe for my dd to be around and eat. This church is so wonderful to us.... of course we help out wherever we can!

The Easter Breakfast at our church is always a hit. And the eggs in the roaster must work, because that's how they do it lol!! Just be sure to turn the heat way down and stir them occassionally. One lady mists a bit of water on them to keep them moist as she stirs. For the sausage, they cook them in the oven and use a crockpot to keep them warm.

Frugal today--so far, nothing!! Dh came home early from work. I feel as if I've spent a fortune since last night between groceries and paper products and stuff to make more cleaners. I know, rationally, that it's all frugal because it saves in the long run. But I spent well over $100 all at once and it's KILLING the cheapskate inside me rofl!!

I'm not looking forward to gas prices going up. Dh has a 120-mile drive every day for work. I am, however, planning on saving as much gas as I possibly can, mainly by making out a detailed grocery list for each store I shop at, and having dh shop on his way home from work. That will save a good 40 miles a week from me doing it myself!! It should work out just fine, because I tend to buy the same things all the time from the same stores. And, of course, warmer weather is coming so the kids and I can start walking more places again!

Frugal today for me was using a drycleaning sheet in the dryer to clean DH's suit.

And shopping the sales at Meijers using coupons to bring home $88.84 for just $43.33 saved 49%. I was able to buy 4) 28oz cans of Deil Frattelli tomatoes for $.50 each, 3) 15 oz Chef Boyardi Ravioli for $.60 each, 2 packs Keebler cookies for $.50 each, 3 tubes of Pringles for $.57 each, 2 Gallon Milk for $1.67 each, slippers for DD1 for $2, and 2 lamp shades for $2.24 each, and a box of Valentines for $.40.

I'll need all the savings I can get to fill the Van up, LOL, gas right now is $2.15 a gallon.

Boy, the rumors flying on the potential gas prices are scary, aren't they? I filled up last night and it was EXPENSIVE! Partly because I had let my tank get down so low that my gas light came on, but still! I think frugal today will be checking to make sure my tires are inflated properly and taking some of the excess junk out of my car so it isn't weighted down--don't need to be spending money to haul around stuff that doesn't need to be in there. Plus I need to make an appointment to get my oil changed, but I have a coupon for that

Renewing Scissors

I just read this on the Dollar Stretcher Tips and thought you crafty ladies might be able to use this tip.

Do you have expensive decorative paper punches or fancy scrapbooking scissors that no longer punch or cut well? Do the scissors tear the paper? Do the punches get "stuck" in the paper mid-punch? Don't throw them away!

Fold a piece of aluminum foil four layers thick. Then simply punch or cut into it until the punch/scissors are sharp again. Punch about 10 times into the foil, then punch into paper to check for sharpness. If it's still not sharp, try again. (If the punch gets stuck in the paper and won't release, use a pencil eraser to push the back side of the punch back through until it releases.)

You may have to do up to 25 or 50 punches through the foil before you get a clean punch, but persistence pays off. You will have a "brand new" hole punch or pair of scissors again! Patty J.

Lee: no bills for me today either! But also, no checks! I ordered that razor, too, but have not received it yet. Good you for you that you got it.

We did receive in the mail today an invitation to a surprise 25th wedding anniversary. Any good ideas for a frugal gift? Is the 25th a paper anniversary? I can't remember. I'll have to check the celebrations thread and see if I can find anything there.

Snowing, blowing and cold here today. I have thoroughly enjoyed myself doing next to nothing. I haven't had a day like this in YEARS!

Going to go read my mags. before the kids come home from school....

Could you take pictures for them? It would depend on how fancy a party this is going to be. A photo album or a picture frame?

Goodness, bills!

Living here you learn that there is all kinds of heating sources, gas, petroleum, kersone, steam, controlled heat and air, and what I unfortunately have, base-board electric heating. One bill was $285, the other was $310, and I just paid $155 last week and will have to pay $155 on Monday and whalah, I just got my other bill-(mind you that we have been only having two heaters on to cut money in my room and in dd's or just one heater on and putting on more clothes to save money), and my bill is $258 sent to me today-

I had to pay for the drivers defensive course, my second ticket in my life, and to pay that bill plus the washer/dryer rental and groceries. I spent $27 by buying mostly on sale items so that's good. I spent $50 at Save-A-Lot a few days ago, so that should hold us through the next two weeks. I hope so, but dd is eating me out of house and home so we'll see... plus we're home all week for vacation, so we shall see!!! THe girl is growing like a weed!!!
