Good Friday morning, ladies!
I'm so bad....dh is off at his therapy and instead of getting going with my chores for the day, I'm sitting at the computer. But I have to have my FC fix for the day! And I'm enjoying it.
Today's frugal: cleaning house, doing laundry in cold and starting my plant seeds. It's a bit early yet, and I'll have to replant them--but I had some good success last year doing the same thing--my seedlings did much better transferring to the outside, because I think they were just a bit stronger.
Well--I think dh will be back soon and I don't want to get caught sitting here.
Have a good one!

Carol, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend's husband. I'm sure the family will appreciate the food you're sending. So much goes on when a family member dies that you're grateful not to have to worry about what to feed other people, let alone yourself.
Chris, good for you with the lunches and the savings on groceries! Keep up the good work on your frugal journey.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ERICKA!!! Today is my baby boy's birthday as well... he is four years old. Where did the time go?!?!?
This morning I had a few minutes to myself before everyone got up so I ran to the Kroger around the corner. They have 18-ct large grade-A eggs on sale for 89 cents, limit 2. I picked up my 2 because I needed eggs for the birthday cookie I'm making DS/4 later. I also grabbed two boxes of Valentines, Scooby Doo and Spiderman, for 50 cents each to save for next year, and two 30-oz cans of our favorite refried beans on closeout for 59 cents apiece, normally 1.69 that size. They must be discontinuing the large can. And I grabbed two packages of bacon for what I thought was 2 for $3... but they rang up at $1.89, which was the price they were supposed to be, but the meat dept. hadn't taken down the sale sign from last week... so I got both pkgs of bacon for free! The kids had it for breakfast this morning and I chopped up the uncooked leftovers to stick in the freezer for future flavorings for dinners and such. So I spent less than 5 bucks and got three dozen eggs, two pounds of bacon, two big cans of beans, and all the valentines for next year. I can't complain!
I'm sure I will do something else frugal today, but I'll have to post it when I do it! I know we will go out for dinner tonight... when one of the kids has a birthday we let them pick where we go for dinner. DS/4 loves this place around the other corner from our house called Skeeter's, which serves burgers, tacos, salads, and the like, and the 4 of us can eat for under $20. And it's good eat-out food, not mass-produced like McDonald's. Plus the tables are all covered with butcher paper and a cup of crayons is at each table too... we always have a pleasant dining experience there because the kids are busy drawing and coloring!! LOL!!
Happy Friday everybody!!

Yeah I couldn't believe having to pay $24 for my drivers license renewal this week.
Been doing laundry in cold water. Went to the grocery was a light week spent $44.61 for $61.87 worth. Bought a lot of Kroger brand picked up 12 tubes of biscuits for $4, 24 oz ex-charp cheddar cheese for $5, 3 dozen medium eggs for $1, 15 oz Hillshire Farm lunch meat for $4, cabbage @ $.49 lb, grapes @ $.99 lb, got a Zone meal bar for FREE.
I've been real good about planning ahead & cooking at home this week, haven't hit the drive thru once. Will be eating leftovers today and Sunday. Tomorrow will be going to MIL's house to sit with her there and since their kitchen is ripped out will pick up lunch to eat there on the way.

 Good deals, Catwoman!!
Happy birthday to your little guy. Sounds like you will all have fun celebrating at dinner.
In only 2 weeks, my "baby" will be 3 so I can totally relate with "where does the time go?" And my oldest just turned 13
I have a meeting here later. I always serve coffee and some sort of baked treat. I love to bake and this gives me an excuse. My kids are home today, and oldest DS is angling for me to make Hot Cross Buns. It's as easy as anything else I could bake, so I guess I will do that. I make the dough in the bread machine which makes it really simple. I really enjoy baking, plus knowing that I can make a treat for my family or friends for less than half of what I'd pay to buy it at the store!

Happy Birthday to all on this day...
We made our first batch of beef jerky, using ground hamb. It turned out so good. Used the oven to bake it, as of now do not have a dehydrator. We are bidding on Ebay on a dehydrator, hope we win the auction. Have lot of hamb in the freezer and today we are driving down south to the butcher shop who cut/pkg up another beef, so the freezers will be full to the brim.
My dh made me a large picture frame, now will use some wood filler and then sand it and will be painting it Pale Aubergine ( thats the color name) a medium plum color. Then will attach a woven rug I had bought in Peru to the frame, the color of the paint will pull out the color in the rug.
Will catch a sandwich while we are gone on our trip today, but for supper have no idea what will serve.
Hope your horse calms down a bit soon for you joesbaby, the 3 horses which we have been boading here will be taken back to it's owner on sat. So will be back to our original 5. Need to start working with my horse Majesty, he is broke, but needs some lovin too.
Joy

Happy Birthday Erica
Hope you have a good day.
RobertaD and futureteacher
Good job eating real food instead of fast food, better on the wallet and better on the health.
Been looking through those old crochet books again this morning and learned something new. The have a shaw in there that looks pretty easy to do, and instructions on weaving into it. I'd never thought to do that before, hope to find time this weekend to try that out.
It's too late in the year now to try to sell the shaws but will start making up a few for this fall for our craft shows and of course the mall.

 Happy Birthday all.
Staying home and cleaning is all that I am doing today. Not very exciting but frugal.
Ericka glad your horses are getting along now.

Hi all--I haven't been on in a few days due to an uncooperative computer lol!! I can't believe we're already on #10 for this thread!! My bowling trip was a blast--I got an award for bowling 75 pins over average , AND i won almost $200 at the casino. I only spent about $5 in the quarter slots, so I came out way ahead. I didn't tell dh how much I won, I just tucked it away for an emergency.
Frugal today--going through the pantry again and making a new menu plan. And telling dh to keep his hands off of stuff before he knows what it's for!! He screwed up the last plan because he just had to "help". I did a bit of shopping last night and if all goes well, I'll be able to make it through to next week without one single bean or pasta-based dish.
Also--I'm about to hit the Audobon website. I have a coupon for $25 in free merchandise and they have the Fountain Grass I want. 3 for $9.95, way cheaper than the nursery where they want $8 each!!
