overweight child

You mentioned that the child has tested negative for hypothyroidism. Has the child also been tested for insulin resistance? Insulin resistance also causes extreme weight gain and yo-yo dieting (where you gain the weight back, sometimes plus more, after you go off the diet). About 6 months ago I went to an endocrinologist in another city, and he immediately prescribed this test for me. It turned out that I am insulin resistant, and that has been strongly contributing to the obesity I have suffered all my life. I am taking prescription medication now, and have lost a substantial amount of weight so far. I will be on this medication the rest of my life, but it is worth it.

I am having the same, but I am having a control over weight with the help of my physician. Avoid food with high glycemic index and include fibrous food in your diet..Drink lots of water and exercise a lot as well.
