weight loss

back a few years ago I was involved in a weight loss program and they had a formula to help you know how many calories you needed to eat and still loss weight. Anybody have one?? Also tips would be nice. We are starting a program at church and I would love to help! Thanks

Don't know if it was me or AOL but couldn't get it to finish for me personally. That is neat and would work great for me at home but I need a formula that I can give to the other ladies so they can figure it out for themselves. Our church is filled with people who don't have computers much less the net so that site won't work for everyone. I may go and check out the site to see what kind of hints I can get though. Thanks for your reply thoug.

Without being too complicated ...if you take your present weight and multiply by 12 (woman) or 15 (man) this tells you how many calories a day you should eat to maintain your present weight. If you wnt to lose 1 pound in week (subtract 500 calories a day X 7 = 3500) SUbtract 1000 calories a day and you lose 2 a week. Of course this is for a inactive person. If you want to lose steadily and easily you have to MOVE.... exercise.

;-) Thank you very much for your help. This wasn't EXACTLY what I was looking for but it will certainly give us a good place to start. At this point a ballpark idea of where we need to start is great!! Thank you!
