Mish!
Donna, with you taking medications, maybe it is affecting your moods? It could have to do with you feeling blah.

Donna, I am where you are now too. I need to lose weight, hate to exercise, and have no motivation. I have my brothers wedding coming up and wanted to look good but even that didn't motivate me. I lost 8 pounds in two months doing ww online but keeping track of the points was just to frustrating. Half of the foods I eat I couldn't find on the site because they used "restaurants" versions rather than homemade or homemade with "lite" ingredients. do you like walking? Could Mark walk with you? That might be a nice way to spend time together and get in some exercise. I bought a jogging trampoline and in the winter often use that for exercise while watching tv. I run on it during commercial breaks and force myself to do it until all of the commercials are over, then sit until the next commercial break. I don't like the person I am right now because I feel I am far from the person I want to be. (thinner, eating healthier, calmer, better health) and I know what I need to do to get there. I, like you, just need to find what will motivate me the best. I like DeBora's idea of small rewards each week. (I need to make it something besides food though LOL) As for your medications, read any package insert and see if there is any cause for either weight gain or mood changes. I was on antidepressants once and gained 40 pounds despite actually joining a gym (which I hate) and working out religiously. It was the meds!!! Hang in there and hopefully your doctor can get your allergies under control. Just take each problem one step at a time. Have you tried lowering your cholesterol with food (cheerios, oatmeal etc?) That is what my dh is trying to do as he has high cholesterol. I wish I had better answers for you (and for me) Just know you are always in my prayers!

Pinkie Winky Hi Train Lady

See this pear, thats what they expect us to live on, haha. I know exactly how you feel. I too have medical problems and also see a councelor. I haven't been to ww but I know you have to have motivation or even that won't help. I don't think there is such a thing as a fun exersize amd I know I just don't seem to have the energy to do much in that direction. I do better when I'm not so stressed out but it is hard not to sometimes. I think I eat when I am bored, thats alot of my problem. I am on alot of medications too and sometimes I am tempted to just quit half of them. I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea a year ago and they want me to sleep with a mask PLUS oxygen. I think we look back to when we were younger and healthier and it's depressing when we think of the medical problems we have now. I know it makes me feel old when I'm not. But just talking to others that understand helps alot. I recently lost 37 pounds but now I qam struggling to keep it off and this is what always happens. I know I have to change my way of eating and do it for good but I do okay for awhile and then I slowly slip back to eating the wrong way again. But I would love to be friends and we can discuss things that will help us both get motivated, okay. Donnie

Hey, I lost 40 pounds eating one time, lol. It took me 4 months to do it but then guess what.....winter came and I couldn't get watermelon anymore. Good excuse huh.

You have seen me here and ther on this thread a million times over the years.......

I have tried, unsuccesfully to do anything about my weight and current state of health. I try and I last about a week. I have no motivation at all to stick to anything, diet, exercise, or anything. (Notice my past jobs too, which last about 3 months)
I am quitting the mental health center where I just started and blah blah blah.........

So, the lady at WW tells me I need to find a FUN exercise if I am going to stick to it.
Is there such a thing?
What have you found that is fun?

WW points and me do not get along. I get very frustrated with all the counting. BUT, even if someone wrote them out for me I would stick to them for my limit of about a week. I very excitedly start something only to stopit becasue I can't do it. I'm hungry.

My doctor keeps adding more and more meds that I do not want to take.
Yesterday in the doctor, after a benedryl shot, to whatever in the world I am allergic to I came home and slept four hours. I went to the mental health center this morning where I slept another three.
My blood pressure was 170 yesterday. My cholesterol is way too high. I am having trouble breathing, etc.
The doc wants me to go to a cardiologist and , well, you get the picture............

I am a mess.
SO, my question.........WHAT keeps you motivated?

hugs, train

Train, what if you made one small change this week, nothing earth-shattering. Perhaps add something to your diet, or something to your routine. Or delete something small. Then in a week or so, make another small change. If you do it slowly enough that it's not overwhelming, perhaps you can deal with it. These things won't change your life in a week or month, but as they become part of it, they will make a difference. Those "Lose 40 pounds in 5 minutes" plans don't work anyway. I think they are really stressful, too, and that's not going to beneficially impact your life over the long haul. I just don't think it is realistic to make really drastic changes overnight, unless it is a true, immediate life or death situation. You

Hi Boggz

I wonder if watermelon is going to go up like everything else. It was already high enough. I have a hard time picking a good sweet watermelon. I like them real juicy and sweet. They say to thump on one to see if it's ripe but I have tried that and still gotten one that was half green. Any ideas. Friends, Donnie
