I have been losing weight for about 14 months. I lost 20 pounds last summer doing all dh could not do after his surgery. I started working out in Jan. I gained 10 pounds of muscle back. Now with the medication for metabolic symdrome I can lose three pounds a week. I should be at my goal weight the week after Christmas. I agree with Jodi, it takes movement! And a good eating plan.

Here is a tip that I have done twice in the last week. My parents LOVE homemade Pizza and I have been making it about once a week of late. I get a spaghetti squash and use that as my base and put all of the gloppies, including cheese, on top and then bake until it gets all gooey! Its really very good, and I dont feel like I missed out on anything.

When I trained for the LA Marathon, I ate whatever I wanted. I could eat a block of cheese a day and lose. It is really moving your body. (This is not a healthy approach but my point is, MOVE and burn it off...) I forgot this ever important lesson until I started mowing and swimming.

You do it when you are ready. I know you can do it. You have the determination and the heart. We CalGals don't mess around!
We get 'er done!

J~ (over the rain. Just flippin over it!)

Waiting for it to cool off a bit before I get my cool pink boxing gloves out again!

Next Thursday is payday and shopping day.
We have done really good at eating up all the junk food, etc.
Next Friday we will begin our healthy eating again and I am sure there will be many more "agains" as far as eating healthy but that's me!!!!
It's pitiful when you are staritng to eat healthy but already have in the back of your mind when your cheat days will be!!! LOL!!!

But really though, I have got my mind motivated to try hard!

hugs, train

This was day one which I started on Friday.
It was all healthy foods but way too much fiber way too fast. My body is used to Taco Bell and candy..........
I had a HORRIBLE belly ache by 4:00
The next day, I ate less, added more water (rather forced more water) I am not a water drinker but with all these healthy complex carbs I need the water or I will be a bomb!!!!!

I am following Tosca Renos Clean eating program.
It is small meals every two to three hours combining a lean protein with two complex carbs...including three CC from whole wheat grain bread, brown rice, etc.; 6 fresh fruits and or vegies a day including one green and one citrus ; 6 proteins a day inc 2 lean meats or fish, 2 dairy and 2 other and plenty of water.

10:00
LP...hard boiled egg white
CC...orange
CC...oatmeal with flaxseed, cinamon, nutneg, raisins and spray butter

12:00
LP...1 T nut butter
CC...I slice whole grain bread
CC...apple

2:00
LP...yogurt
CC....green slad
CC...green salad with romaine, tomatoes, cucumber and radishes

3:00 Execise
Did 30 minutes on treadmill singing my lungs out with Miley Cyrus and six minutes onweights

4:00
LP...3 oz grilled chicken strips in a
CC...whole wheat wrap with
CC......romaine lettuce, tomatoes and
HF...avacado

6:00
LP...salmon
CC...fresh spinach
CC...fresh pineapple

8:00

Drinks for today
2 bottles of water
2 Coke Zeros

If you are interested in the plan I am following it is Tosca Renos' Clean Eating.

The book is called "The Eat Clean Diet."
In the book she talks about how it is a way of eating for lifee, not a diet.................yet diest is in the title..........!!!!

The website is:
www.toscareno.com

I bought the book at Barnes and Noble about a month ago. It intruiged me because the pictures of the food in the book DID look really good! There is a picture in the book of what a healthy fridge should look like. It took us the past three weeks to get rid of (eat) the junk but I can say now our refrigerator is full of healthy food.

hugs, train

Sunday, Sept 20

Today we had a noon wedding and I KNEW that was going to be a challenge.
There was homemade cheesecake with cherry topping and I wanted some SO bad. Also M&Ms at each of the tables. There was a BBQ with burgers and brats.....

I was good but I was so grumpy by the time we got home so I made a box of pudding to cure my craving and then I was a happy girl again. I guess I will call today pudding Sunday!

10:00
LP... egg white omelet with
CC...spinach, mushrooms, peppers and onions
HF...spary of olive oil

12:00
wedding
I had a burger without bread, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles and a small handful of chips.
I didn't have any cheesecake or candy though i desperately wantd it!

It's not about never ever having desserts for special occasions, but really, I only started three days ago!!!

3:00...Sunday day off from exercise

4:00
LP...tuna fish on top of a
CC....big green salad with romaine, iceburg, cucumbers, tomatoes and red peppers

6:00
LP...1 T nut butter on
CC.....a sliced apple

Drinks...a pepsi at the wedding
lots of water

And a big yummy bowl of Sunday chocolate pudding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Donna, WTG on eating healthy. The flaxseed might be causing your tummy aches. It does not agree with some people.
