Keep up the good work Joy!. 20 lbs loss is great. I would alos suggest if you can find a buddy to share your challenges/success/ workouts/ etc. with ... I found that was a great support system too.

Meamom,

Thanks for giving us a great success story. It's really nice to hear something so positive every now and then. Pat yourself on the back for me and have a great day.

What an incredible story and soooo motivating for me! I need to lose abot 80 pounds to be healthy. I'm diabetic and scared. I'm diet controlled and want to stay that way. THANK YOU for posting your story. You can't know what a boost it is.

I first saw Meamom's story back in Oct. 2002. I had just begun a new weight loss plan and I was drawn to her story since I too had to lose a lot of weight. I am happy to report that I am still on track and have lost about 52 lbs so far. I am feeling better and am not feeling deprived. People are beginning to notice my progress and the compliments help keep me going. Hope you will use Meamom story to help motivate you to get started, Nagymom. I did and I am sure glad I did.

Joy

A waist is a terrible thing to mind

To all the supporters of my post and those new.
Just an update. My life is certainly is much happier and of course healthier since I have shed the 'other me' but still I take each day at a time and try to incorporate good eating habits and some physical exercise (at least 30 mins per day ..... even if it doing housework - yes, that counts too) and I keep a journal/diary - you would be amazed how writing it down sometimes can dispel even the darkest despair). I appreciate that it is not easy for some people and the daunting task of weight loss is overwhelming. That is why I try to think positive, have no unrelaistic expectations and take small steps.
I am always encouraged, impressed and motivated when I hear about other people's successes. Learn from them, gather as much information as you can from a wealth of information out there. One thing I have learned is that I have a food allergy...when I eat certain things I break out in 'fat cells' and I have to deal with it.
Tackle today and tomorrow will be all the easier.

Congratulations Meamom!!

WOW you are an inspiration for me!! I have just been recently diagnosed with Insulin Resistance. I am struggling immensely. I have started a program that my doctor told me to try. So far I am doing good on the diet but the scales aren't going down. Needless to say I am getting very frustrated. So right now I am looking for an e-mail buddy that we can exchange ideas, support and anything else. If anyone is interested please e-mail me
Have a great day!!

Can I get in on this?

I just lost 154 pounds.

I went from a size 26 to a size 4. (And yes, I have pictures to prove it, too. )

Here's my funny picture story...

Recently during a road spot check I was pulled over by the TX troopers and asked for my licence and insurance, etc. I gave the officer my licence and he was looking from me to the picture and me to the picture. He said, "Okay now show me your real id Ma'am." I assured him that it really was me, pulling out my passport as well, Finally, he asked if I had any other ID. I found myself pulling out my debit card, my Blockbuster card, my Costco card and, ultimately my library card.

He laughed, now assured that I really was who I said I was but strongly suggested that I get down to the DMV for a new photo, ASAP.

Anyway...The only thing left to do is I'm currently looking into a tummy tuck as it's the only area that I have issues with. After meeting with my plastic surgeon, the plan, at this point, is to have the surgery in early November - After the heat eases up.

Mind you, it truly isn't a vanity issue. Just with such a weightloss, the good ol skin, in that area didn't bounce back the way it used to when I was 18. That leads to nasty things like rashes and severe chafing in the TX summer heat.

WOW!! Nancy this is AMAZING and wonderful! Please do share with us how you did this.

I have to ask--I know everyone must find their own but HOW and WHERE did you amazing ladies find the motivation to do this? I get started good then lose steam along the way and find myself back at sqaure one.

I am in awe of your successes and want to say a hearty congratulations! BTW I loved the story Nancy. That was GREAT!
