Heirloom tomatoes anyone?

I am interested in finding a website or catalogue that sells heriloom tomatoes. Does anyone have any suggestions? I really want to try growing them next year and saving the seeds. SO much is genetically altered these days that I would like something that I can plant year after year that I know that I made myself!

Thanks!

Heirloom Tomatoes

Hi... Found this site but if you do a search under heirloom tomatoes there are more. Noticed the seeds are very expensive.

Thanks, but I ordered from here and never got my seeds. THe seeds are expensive b/c they can be used year after year, unlike many seeds that you can use from the store (b/c they are genitically altered).

I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with other heirloom tomatoes and what worked for them! Thanks though...

tomatoes

This sight seems to be a catch all for tomato lovers:

You also might try Jeanne's creative canning group. These people garden up a storm and I bet if anyone would know they would.

Good luck to you.

On a recent Martha Stewart show she had a segment on heirloom tomatoes. Her site has links to everything from her shows, so I would try checking it.

Also try:

Seeds of Change

The guy who wrote the book "Seeds of Change" was, I believe, one of the first to talk about the dangers of genetically altered seeds and the benefits of going back to heirloom vegetables. The seeds at the site are organic.

We grew Brandywine tomatoes this year; this is an heirloom variety, and was very tasty.

No, we haven't harvested the Brandywine seeds; I am pretty sure we didn't use all the ones that came in the pkg, so maybe next year we'll harvest our own seeds. We've found that most seeds are good for at least a couple of years, if not longer.

Musicmom1, I'd try www.heirloomtomatoes.com. They truly are heirloom tomatoes and just try going there and giving it a look-see! You may like what you see! Hope this will help.
