garden talk

Dh came home from work and a customer where he restored power gave him some raspberry plants- with the sentiments to come back for more if he'd like.
He the borrows a tractor and large tiller from the neighbor. A short time later he has a place for raspberries in our orchard. AND then some. We now have a 113 ft x 18 foot garden. Two thumbs up I am telling you.

So we have planted corn, potatoes, carrots and beets. I will get watermelon and pumpkins tomorrow while in town. I plan to plant some perrenials. I like that idea a lot. Ds12 is lost on this. He would like "more carrots, or some parsnips or even celery, Mom. Just not flowers."

Happy for you! My dh would always be willing to buy or plant anything that would make our garden better. He did build me a green house with windows that some one was getting rid of. We had jalousie windows on top for ventilation and a jalousie door. I enjoyed my 60x100 garden for years.
Even now that we retired to Florida I cannot keep my hands out of the dirt.

I like to know that you can't keep your hand out of the dirt. Great way to put it!
I moved where I live now in the month of August coming up on three years.

The big area was their garden and then the wife got in an auto accident and couldn't keep up with that anymore. So the dh made her 4 raised beds by the chicken coop. This has been my garden. I really like it. The chicken coop is occupied by our dog. :-)

I try to save all my vegetable & fruit scraps and put them in the ninja blender to feed my Papaya tree & fig trees. After blending add some frozen banana peels and blend some more. Empty into a larger pitcher and add water. The trees love the added nutrients and grow faster.
