Fig tree blooming again!

The leaves on my fig trees all fell off. Now new leaves are forming with fruit again. These two trees have been producing for over 25 years with wonderful sweet figs. I am glad I froze a lot so have enough for my smoothies to last until the new crop comes in. Cleaning up the leaves are a job but gets me outside in the fresh air and sunshine early in the morning. Figs are so filled with health benefits with so little care in Florida. Since we have not been getting much rain in our area I make sure I take the time to give them a good soaking from the well I have for irrigation

It is according to the temperatures and if I keep feeding and watering it. I do prune it so more air gets through the branches. With two side by side freeze a lot to keep up.

I am so envious of you, Sueanne! To be able to pick your own is a dream unto itself.

Fig tree blooming 5/20/2015

Starting to get figs again. Should be ready for picking soon. The trees grew so much this year even after trimming them back last fall. My Son is 6ft. 2In. so you can imagine the crop we will get. There is another one the same size behind it.
