Thumbs up I cured my tomatoes

We noticed that our tomatoes were getting end blossom rot, so i looked up the problem and it said to buy some special calcium powder at the garden centre.Well i had no car at the time, it had broken down. I asked my hubby "why can't we just put some milk in the soil". So we did just that. We took our small watering can and added a half a glass of milk to the water. This was done once a day and to our surprise it worked. The tomatoes are now normal looking and we still use the milk daily. Just a little tip to remember for next year or this if it happens before last harvest. Have fun and keep gardening.

End blossom rot is when the bottom part of your tomato, where the flower falls off after it's grown, becomes discoloured looking like it's going rotten. If you pick the tomato early enough it isn't actually rotten yet but left on the vine will become so.Thank you for asking, I hope I've answered your question.

Thanks that did answer my question. We have 5 tomato plants and never had that happen before. I am having problems with the tomatoes rotten from the bottem even while they are green. We did tie them up better yesterday so we will see if it gets better now.

Another bad year for my tomatoes. Last year I thought it was to much rain. This year I guess I'll blame it on all the heat. lol.....My tomatoes get not to big, turn green and stay this way. My peppers did just great......
