I am interested in fesh and new ideas.
What ideas do you all have, or maybe do to make a romantic evening with your hubby?

Hello there!

I know exactly what you mean! I personally think that "dating" our husbands is very important! Here are some of our "dates".

* take a camera and have a "photo-shoot". What ever tickles your fancy. Personally we love nature so, we take our pups and take pictures of the kids, the surroundings, eachother....well you get the picture! Drop the film at the "1-Hour" and grab a cup of coffee, (or whatever you like). Great special time

*Mountain evening drives! Order a pizza for carry out, swing by and grab it. Where we live there are oodles of deer!

*At a park place a tablecloth on a picnic table, have etched glasses ( you can do that yourself) and toast with "pepsi". Have chinese takeout, chocolate covered stawberries....watch the sunset.

*Make an early breakfast picnic complete with coffee, pasteries, fruit, and cheese. Watch the sunrise.

*If you like animals...volunteer at your local shelter walking pets and later split a banana split

*mini-golf challeange (or arcade) Penalty for looser. IE: He cooks or I wash cars

*Go to local farmer's market and get fruit....go home and make a special dessert.....Food fight???

*Rent a canoe on the lake, with camera and lunch in a waterproof container. Lunch, chicken corn soup, sandwiches and cookies ???/

*Bowling
*Concert
*Auction/yard sales
*Playground to play and be "kids" / play in the creek

-make a snowman at 3 am / share cocoa
-breakfast in bed
-30 days of sweet surprises
-re-new wedding vows in a special place or look at picture
-video game challange
-love notes around house in places he'll find
-play cards, dominos, yatzee

- Luau at home...build a fire ( we have a fire ring) and have soft music. serve pina coladas ( ours are virgin drinks) in 1/2 coconut shell. Have flower leisand roast pork with pinapple.

-Buy a box of children's valentines and write a different reason you love him on each one.

-Make a friendship bracelet with a note, "every good marriage is rooted in friendship"

-Have a "spa" ready when he gets home. Tub for soaking, massage complete with music and candles, have a hot meal that has been slow cooking, dine by candlelight, and finally watch a movie (his taste) while sharing popcorn.

Hope this gets you started!

I will be making a "Valentines Love Basket" for Mark.
I have a wicker basket and I will fill it with wine, our wine glasses from our wedding, chocolates, strawberries, a candle, and some soft music playing in the background!

Love baskets can be made seasonally........picnic love baskets in the summer, Easter Love baskets, etc, etc, using different holidays and themes!

hugs, trainlady

Box of love
To make this gift you'll need
Small plain box
Glitter other decorations
ribbon
printed poem

This is a very special gift
That you can never see,
The reason it's so special,
is it's just for you from me,
Whenever you are happy,
or even feeling blue,
You only have to hold this gift,
and know I think of you.

You never can unwrap it,
please leave the ribbon tied,
Just hold the box close
to your heart,
It's filled with love inside.

Small terra cotta flower pots - 2-inch
diameters or larger are good
Assorted acrylic paints
Water base glaze
Styrofoam - white or green
Spanish moss

Decide what you want to paint on your pots (hearts) OR WHATEVER you want.

aint the clean, dry pot with acrylic paints. Let dry completely.

After the pot has dried, apply water base glaze, according to the jar

instructions. Let the pot dry completely again.

Place a small piece of Styrofoam in the bottom of the pot. Place the

lollipops into the Styrofoam, and cover the foam generously with the

Spanish moss

you could put other kind of cany in there, I will find chocolates for he loves choc.

Hi..

Although this thread is originally in the Valentine's Day forum I thought it would be good to refresh some of the ideas for ALL year long.
Also...not all of these ideas are strictly for couples. Some of these same ideas we can use for our kids for special occasions or when they are having a rough time !

Just a thought

I like Morelia's idea for a sunrise breakfast in the park! And since we live right across the street from a park, I think I will do that this year for Mark's birthday or Valentines Day!!!

A super fun idea is snowtubing.

It is glorified sledding!
At WHITETAIL ski resort near where we live they also have snowtubing for $ 10 per hour. I went tonight with the kids and it was so fun. We took marshmellows, graham crackers and chocolate ! There is a nice lil fireplace inside and a bon fire in the pit out side .. it is great with the kids or can be VERY romantic with your hubby~
