We don't go all out for Valentine's Day but do celebrate it. I try to give my dh and children some candy and something red or Valentine's themed. For example, one year I gave everyone a red t-shirt and candy, another year red notebooks and red pens with candy, last year I gave dh the movie Crazy Heart. You get the idea. I also try to make a nice dinner with dessert.

We celebrate Valentine's Day. I do have a few decorations. It's nice to brighten the gray of winter with some pink and red! I usually get some chocolates for dds and hubby and make something special for dinner and dessert.

We still don't celebrate in a big way.. I did buy a decoration for the door this year that has red hearts and pink cupcakes in a circle, cute!! Noe of course being the frugal person I am, I bought it at the thrift store.

Other than that, we probably won't do much.. as someone else mentioned we celebrate our love on our wedding anniversary and then it's till low key most of the time. We usually go out to dinner but not always.

Another point someone brought up is going out to dinner for Valentines Day.. near impossible to get a seat and the last time we did it, the service was terrible because they were so busy.

I think last year it fell on the weekend or a Monday. We had a gift card for Red Lobster and used it on the Friday before. It wasn't crowded and we got wonderful service. Who says you have to celebrate on the actual day anyway?

I love Valentine's day but Jerry usually forgets about it....just as he does our anniversary in May.LOL It is wonderful to have all the pinks and reds in the middle of the grays of winter! I usually get Jerry a card, some candy, and balloons. It is a beautiful day to tell others how much you love them and how special they are to you!
Hugs, Paula

For us it seems to just be another day...I did get roses the first year we were married, but it was never repeated...my dh was not brought up in a family that did things for the holidays...so he does not do it now....

Well it is 10 years since I posted here last & things do change. We now draw names(there are 6 of us) and fill a basket or bag with little goodies. we do the same for Christmas stockings & Halloween

Drawing names is a good idea in this day and age with the cost of things!
