What would you prefer for Valentine's Day?

I recently heard on the radio that a study was conducted among women from ages 25-70, asking them if they had the choice what would they prefer as a gift from their man on Valentine's Day. The choices were:
  • a hand written love letter
  • chocolate
  • flowers
  • jewelry
Interestingly enough, the overwhelming answer was a love letter from the heart! The male DJ was flabbergasted and found it hard to believe. He said that he could understand that over chocolate and flowers, but not over jewelry. LOL

So what do you say ladies?

Now for me PERSONALLY, I would truly rather receive a letter. I know that it would truly take a sincere effort on my husband's part to write such a thing, so that would mean more to me than anything. Flowers, candy and even jewelry are just material possesions and just don't take that much effort.

I would choose a love letter too. It would not have to be anything fancy. Years ago I read in a magazine that a lady's husband wrote "I Love You" on all the eggs in the refrigerator. That certainly was original and he had put a lot of thought in it.

I too chose a letter for the same reason as Amanda.

I chose jewelry...

Saying any more than that would be a downer.

I chose jewelry. My husband writes me love letters, notes and emails all the time. As for candy, being a diabetic I can't eat it. And as for flowers, I love them but I have a smelling disorder I guess you could call it, I can't smell a lot of odors [some I am thankful for] and I can't smell most flowers. [Oddly enough I can smell dead decaying ones but not fresh or freshly cut ones] I also hate to think of the dead dying flower and prefer a plant of some sort so I can keep it alive forever. So I chose jewelry.

in my opinion letter would be too cheesy. if dh would bring me flowers it would mean that hell froze or pigs can fly. he hates any kind of holidays including b-days. so i would be happy if anyone gives me flowers. valentines day here is not very popular. only among teenagers.

I would love to get a "love letter' from my hubby..he tells me he loves me all the time, but I want to see it in writing...and then whenever I doubt it..I could re-read that letter.

My hubby is not very romantic, but occasionally he surprises me with something romantic. I would love it if he wrote me a letter. It wouldn't have to be long....

My husband had always given me a nice card- he went through them till he found the perfect one - then also wrote a long message in it to me with his thought for the year gone by... I would take the letter over anything he could have bought for me! I've never been materialistic and he knew that... I will sure miss my Valentine from him this year...
