Turkey Broccoli Quiche

as posted by sandieluvsbears in the November 2004 What's for Dinner? thread.

Turkey Broccoli Quiche

1 - 9"pie shell (I get the already made Pillsbury ones)
3/4cup chopped broccoli
2 Tablespoon onion
1Tablespoon margarine or butter
3/4 cup chopped cooked turkey
1/2 cup swiss or cheddar cheese (shredded) I use both
3 eggs
1 and 1/4 cups of half and half
1/2tsb salt

Saute the broccoli and onion for 3 to 4 min.Sprinkle broccoli, onion and cheese and turkey into pie shell. Baet the eggs with the half and half, add the salt. Pour over turkey. Bake at 425 for 15 min. lower heat and continue baking at 325 for 25 to 30 min more or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.

I used a homemade pie crust instead of a bought one just because I've finally got a recipe everybody likes for a crust! I also used frozen chopped broccoli thawed thoroughly and drained till very dry so I didn't have to saute the broccoli with the onion. Used fat free half and half. So really the same ingredients, but just my take using what I had to make this. I omitted the salt.

Other than those slight changes I followed the recipe. It was very good and we enjoyed it a lot! Thanks for sharing the recipe Sandieluvsbears!! Another Family Corner recipe going into my "favorites" file!
