I came across another great idea that I want to do for bathroom towels or just stuff

You turn a tomato cage upside down... curl the ends and then put baskets into the rings!!! (does that make sense??)

We just moved here so we are in a rental until we get into our house june 1st.... I am going to be busy busy busy with all of these Ideas once we FINALLY get in there!!! LOL

Your story about the window made me laugh out loud!! My mother found and old one of these as well as hung it is her garden with some more trash finds. She loves her trash finds and my step dad thinks she is crazy!! I will have to tell her someone else had the same idea.. Guess she is not so crazy after all.

She even took an old tire and cut it up and painted it to look like a parrot, which also hangs in her garden.

She has old silver silverware made into wind chimes and also made some stepping stones out of concrete but put stuff in each of the stones. one has coins, one has marbles, shells etc.

She even has an old church pew to sit on.

I HER GARDEN!!!

Texchef, I have to tell you, I my garbage finds too!!

I would love to see what your mother tire parrot looks like....cant even picture that one!

Love the church pew in the garden!

A few years ago I wouldnt have been caught dead doing this but now its sorta turned into a challenge! At first, my Dh was totally against it but now he even drives the neighborhood on garbage day on his way home from work in the morning.

Keep reporting any more of Moms good finds!

Tami

I've been reading all these posts & have gotten the bug to go dumpster diving! Well...these posts AND the revelation that one of my very-well-to-do neighbors just stopped in the middle of broad daylight & picked up a TV from another neighbor's garbage! hahaha! I was totally floored when she told us about it. Her DH likes to tinker w/tvs, radios, etc. and he repaired it - it works perfectly! She said she did call the original owner & asked if they would like to have it back. They declined & she's thrilled with a new TV! I still can't get over that - you'd have to know my neighbors. Most of them are fairly well-off & so snobbish they won't even wave hello to each other.

Tomorrow is trash day......I've never done this and I can hardly wait!! Who knows, I may even find a TV!!!

Dadia, Good luck on the dumpster diving! Not much good stuff in garbage around here. I just found these post the other day, and these ladies are inspiring.

Wow, I have enough posts now to go on the free trade/swap board! Hooray! If I EVER finish this typing job I'm doing (which I will, just wish it was over with now) I'll be sure to get on there!
